We have a little something to celebrate at Healing Earth Farms, and we're pretty proud of it! 💚
Today, we welcomed the Arizona Department of Agriculture for our semiannual greenhouse and farm inspection, and we're thrilled to share that we passed with flying colors once again! 🎉
Just six months ago, our inspectors praised the cleanliness of our greenhouse, the excellent condition of our plants, and the remarkable lack of pest activity.
Today? Another successful inspection, with inspectors once again very pleased with what they saw!

🌱 A Seedling Update From Our Greenhouse

If you've shopped our seedlings recently, you may have noticed something: our selection is smaller than usual.

And you're right! We want to let you know why.

It's been an unusual season at Healing Earth Farms. Increased interest in growing food at home, along with recent concerns surrounding commercially grown produce, created much higher demand for our seedlings than we anticipated. That's wonderful news — but it also depleted our inventory faster than our normal growing schedule could replenish it.

Then Arizona's triple-digit summer heat made starting new seedlings more challenging.

And Mother Nature wasn't quite finished with us. The severe rainstorm that recently hit Mesa flooded our seeding area, damaged part of the building and caused us to lose started seedlings and some of the supplies we use to grow them.

That's a lot for one little seedling department! 🌱

But we're growing back.

Our team is busy seeding, planting and rebuilding our inventory. Because we grow our seedlings ourselves in 100% organic coco coir, we can't simply restock a shelf overnight. They need time to germinate, grow and become healthy plants that we're proud to send home with you.

So if you don't see your favorite variety right now, please don't give up on us. More seedlings are growing!

🥗 Matt's Kale, Apple & Cranberry Salad

You'll Need:

🥬 6 cups fresh kale, stems removed and chopped
🍎 1 crisp apple, thinly sliced or chopped
❤️ ½ cup dried cranberries
🌰 ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
🧀 ½ cup crumbled goat cheese from our Market
🧅 ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion, optional

For the Honey-Dijon Vinaigrette:

🫒 ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
🍎 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
🍯 1 tablespoon honey
🥄 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
🧂 Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
🥄 Put It Together

Whisk the vinaigrette ingredients together until combined.

Massage the kale as described above. Add the apple, cranberries, nuts, cheese, and red onion.

Drizzle with enough Honey-Dijon vinaigrette to lightly coat everything and toss well.

Give it a few minutes for the flavors to come together, then dig in! by @truegardenaz
