Just visited Estes Park Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park. Beautiful. Majestic elk everywhere, roaming free in and around lakes, grazing in pastures, even crossing the streets downtown and resting on a hill. But also downtown a sign at a restaurant: Elk Bites. And then on the flight home, while sharing the experience of being amongst the elk, someone asked, “Did you try it?” What is wrong with people? Why is the default in relation to animals to kill him or her (they are not objects, not “it,” they are individuals) and then eat them? Does violence and death really need to be the source of nourishment? And how is it not understood that ingesting violence and death will never properly nourish? But strangely not all animals are viewed this way, further proving humanity’s irrational thinking and behavior. If we had said Colorado has so many beautiful eagles or dogs or panda bears, would anyone ask, “Did you try it?” Why not just admire and appreciate majestic wild animals who existed long before humans came around? Why not grant them the freedom they deserve, the same freedom that all humans want? Our nourishment and good health can come from the plentiful amounts of plant-based foods available today. And our souls can be nourished by living peacefully with nature and knowing that intentional harm and exploitation is unnecessary and unacceptable and will always boomerang back. Follow the Golden Rule. We reap what we sow. by @truejustice4all

Join us in Miami for the Annual World Vivisection Protest Day!

We’ll be taking to the streets to educate the public about vivisection by handing out leaflets and brochures, displaying signs, and having conversations about the cruelty behind animal testing. We’ll also be sharing information about the newly introduced COMPACT Act and asking people to contact Congresswoman Maria Salazar in support of the Act. All materials will be provided.

Animals are not tools, test subjects, or resources. Animal experimentation is cruel, unnecessary, and outdated.

Modern science has given us technologies and research methods that can move beyond animal experimentation. Yet animals continue to be confined, tortured, and killed in laboratories.

Come out, bring a friend, and help us speak up for the animals trapped in laboratories. Everyone is welcome!

Just bring plenty of water. Feel free to contact us with any questions!

The message can’t be any clearer nor stated any better. It’s just a shame that the word “please” is needed. Thou Shalt Not Kill doesn’t say “please.” Respecting life and extending moral consideration is an obligation, not a favor. by @truejustice4all

One of the lucky ones (though does luck really exist?) Maybe one of the fortunate ones is a better word. But no, not her, not this beautiful, innocent beagle. It’s us, we’ve been fortunate to see how The Golden Rule truly matters, how what goes around truly does come around, and how we always do reap what we sow. Having participated in the rescue attempt at Ridglan in Wisconsin in April and volunteering in May in the release orchestrated by Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy, our reward (undeserving but graciously accepted), is the joy of welcoming into our family a beautiful beagle who deserves a life of freedom, just like we all do. We’re forever indebted to her for the lessons she’ll teach us everyday as we continue the fight for true justice 4 all. by @truejustice4all

So grateful to have had the opportunity to join in the remarkable rescue effort and subsequent release of the innocent, beautiful beagles from captivity in Wisconsin to freedom in caring rescue facilities and loving homes all around the country. Once again @waynehhsiung and @thesimpleheart_ and so many courageous animal rights activists have shown that compassion and perseverance can deliver justice - true justice 4 all. Extend moral consideration to all living beings. End animal testing. Live vegan. by @truejustice4all

It’s so hard to imagine a world where humans breed and torture dogs for profit, where universities and scientists exploit dogs for cruel and nonsensical vivisection, where corrupt government officials use tax payer dollars to support these barbaric businesses and ignore the criminal activity involved and where law enforcement uses excessive force and brutality to protect the criminals.

This lowest form of human activity was jointly on display at Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin on April 18th. Fortunately there are thousands of individuals of courage, compassion and character who, in the same spirit of leaders throughout history who changed the world through civil disobedience, fought bravely for the dogs and will continue the fight, until all cages are empty and until all living beings receive the moral consideration that they deserve.

A couple of activists handed out flyers to guests entering the Pelican Harbor Gala at The Rusty Pelican.

Guests thought they were receiving information about the gala. They were actually receiving the truth.

Every year, Pelican Harbor hosts a fundraising event at a seafood restaurant — while rescuing animals harmed by the very industry they’re supporting.

We reached out to Pelican Harbor last year (slide3-4) asking them to align their gala with their mission. They chose not to (slide 5-6). That’s why we showed up.

Read the flyer (slide 2). Decide for yourself if this aligns with their mission.

If we truly care about animals, that compassion cannot be selective.

Wayne Hsiung and the many animal rights activists who joined his heroic rescue of tortured and abused beagles yesterday at the Ridglan hell hole in Wisconsin are all fearless warriors, defenders of justice and the very best humanity has to offer. Ridglan and its employees and the law enforcement officers in Wisconsin are the complete opposite. They are abusers. They are cowards. They are about injustice and they represent the very worst that humanity has to offer. History will judge both sides fairly. by @truejustice4all

We have mastered our surroundings, increased food production, built cities, established empires and created far-flung trade networks. But did we decrease the amount of suffering in the world? Time and again, massive increases in human power did not necessarily improve the well-being of individual Sapiens, and usually caused immense misery to other animals…Moreover, despite the astonishing things that humans are capable of doing, we remain unsure of our goals and we seem to be as discontented as ever…We are more powerful than ever before, but have very little idea what to do with all that power. Worse still, humans seem to be more irresponsible than ever. Self-made gods with only laws of physics to keep us company, we are accountable to no one. We are consequently wreaking havoc on our fellow animals and on the surrounding ecosystem, seeking little more than our own comfort and amusement, yet never finding satisfaction. And there’s the challenge for vegan activists, who must work tirelessly in the social justice movement that is veganism. Activists must bring the awareness to non-vegans that they have been fooled their whole life into believing that exploiting animals is acceptable and that eating animals (and wearing them, testing on them and using them for entertainment) is normal and necessary, versus the forces intentionally doing the fooling: culture, tradition, corporations, marketing, the educational system, the medical profession and the government. Don’t back down from the challenge. Hold people accountable and help them understand that they are not living with their actions in alignment with their values. The animals need your voice and though they’ll try denying it, those who have been fooled need your voice too. #sofloanimalrights #cubeoftruth by @truejustice4all
