Raft of the Medusa.

Honored to have had the chance to create my own interpretation of this masterpiece. I think this was the first time I truly felt the connection between oil painting and tattooing.

I won’t speak about the history of the painting itself, but while tattooing it, I couldn’t help feeling how relevant it still is to our times. I’ve been tattooing for ten years now, ten years shaped by a global pandemic, endless crises, wars and hate. Years where consistency often felt impossible.

Yet somehow, I still remained optimistic. Like in this painting, even in moments of deep despair, there are still sparks of hope, small signs pointing toward a better future somewhere on the horizon.

I want to thank @followthefoxcv for trusting me with this project and for allowing me to do what I love most.

This piece took us 3 sessions and around 15 hours of work in total.

Thank you tattooing.
Thank you history.

Can’t get more classic than a Battle Royal backpiece. no matter how cool you’ll be as an adult or when you’re old - @gili_avidan will always be cooler then you.
So thankful to everyone who comes and gets tattooed by me, but especially thankful for those who take this step and do these large scale projects with me.

You can be like Gili and finish your backpiece in 3 sessions ( total of 10-12 hrs of tattooing) because that’s how we do it - fast, efficient and bold ⚡️

Much love.

So yesterday I met @barfisher for another tattoo during his visit from his hometown of Barcelona. I have been tattooing Bar for a few years now and each time he finds a way to challenge me with something different.
He is very much into classic art, I find it really fun taking classic concepts and doing them in an old school style.
So check out his recent tattoos- all of them are already healed.
Let me know what you think about them, is there a classical art piece you would be interested in doing?
