when I was in my late teens, i stood in for a test shot for one of my good friends in photo and in life. a stylist, someone who i never knew up until then, said to me, “it’s not your time to shine.” it was at that moment, i knew he saw something in me that i already saw in myself. sometimes people say and do things unprovoked—shine anyway.
