GOOD☀️MORNING!I am very pleased to announce the inaugural edition of a new party I’m organizing: MUG!MUG is a Tea Disco; a dance party that happens during Tea Time, before the sun sets, and forgoes alcohol in favor of caffeine and tea-forward beverages. Many Tea Discos were politically motivated - a response to homophobic policies around serving patrons who identify as gay or queer.Thankfully, our party is just to add something else to the landscape of programming for LGBTQ+ in the Twin Cities and make a social event that isn’t focused around drinking culture and allows for intergenerational mingling! August marks 5 years sober for me and I am excited to contribute something a little different to my community. For this first one, we’ll be opening up the garage at Misfit Coffee in Near North and enjoying some of the best damn disco and deep cuts you’ve ever heard on Vinyl. I’ve lured Dan Cool up from Kansas City and coaxed Plunging Necklines & Wet Bulb out of retirement for your aural pleasure. All of these people have immaculate taste and will surely get you swaying and shaking!For your taste buds, we’ve tapped the best NA bottle shop in the land: @marigoldmn will be providing alcohol-free delights.Misfit will be picking favs their expansive Tea and Coffee menu and making a batched shrub - you can even buy a bottomless cup, keg-style.Pre-sale is now open! Is it commentary? Is it pandering? Who cares! It's homophobic not to shop with me, a gay artist, during Pride month!All jokes aside, I've listed limited edition Rainbow Run versions of these classics and reissued a ton of my favorite gay designs! pride month is in full swing and i've restocked a ton of my Spice Girls Made Me Gay shirt! I printed on some one-off colors and you can scope them all out in my Ready To Ship section or build your own custom one for the festivities.This design is one of my classics and has been bootlegged itself at least once! When I first started doing Truthlizard, I was very into making and releasing mixtapes. This past holiday season, I released 5 new mixes and sold them at markets! I have decided to indefinitely reinstate them as an offering! In addition to a mixtape version of Heaven on a Beach With You, I’ve reissued 4 reimaginations of my favorite mixes from 2020! It was really fun to revisit these playlists and rework them to include new and different material within their theme. TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY OF THE FUNDRAISER!As I type this, donations are totaling in at $9660, which is so close to our goal of $10k raised for @nhn_tc and @familyhousingfund. It is a privilege to be able to utilize my craft to help my neighbors here in the Twin Cities maintain stable housing. This is a drop in the ocean as far need goes, but I am overwhelmed by the response to this project and feeling proud of my city.Orders are in production and trickling out, I definitely got way more than I expected and am working as fast as I can in my studio with the help of my dear friend Lou to get these all out to their homes ASAP!I have no plans to reprint this shirt in the future, it was limited to this fundraiser, so if you've been on the fence, today is the day to act.If you're local to the Twin Cities, you can opt to pick this up at @benchpressed on April 11th from 10-2!Pictured are some of the color ways available in sizes S-3XL. Happy Wednesday! I have made my weekly donation to @nhn_tc / @familyhousingfund for this past weeks orders! Currently, the profits from this shirt have generated $6,810. I would love to see it hit 10k by the end of March when orders close!I've gotten several requests to bypass shipping on the shirt for locals in the Twin Cities. In my experience, trying to coordinate a time with people is a huge headache for me and I work out of my home and value my privacy, and so I never offer this, but! I'm making a exception for this event.My friends at Bench Pressed and I discussed collaborating on a fundraising effort and they graciously agreed to host me at their shop to offer Pick-Up and Drop-Off for locals. I'll be in their store on April 11th from 10AM - 2PM. They're located at 2010 26th Avenue S in the Seward neighborhood!There are two services being offered at this event! Here's what you need to know:Service #1: Local Order Pick-Up-When placing an order on my site for the fundraiser shirt, select the local pickup option. You will still pay shipping, this just helps me know which shirts I need to bring to the event.-Arrive between 10-2 at Bench Pressed on April 11th to retrieve your order. Shipping can be refunded or donated. -All unclaimed pick-ups will be shipped following the event.Service #2: Upcycling Drop-Off-Arrive at Bench Pressed between 10-2 to drop off the garment you'd like the Fundraiser design.-You'll provide proof a donation to the Family Housing Fund (or an org of your choice related to the occupation)-You'll pay for shipping.-I'll print the design on your garment and ship it back to you!*Please Note* -This is not a pop-up for my other work and I won't be producing any extra Fundraiser T-shirts to have for sale. A belated Valentine to the city I am proud to call my home. The past 10 weeks here have been intense and scary for me and much more so for many of my fellow residents.While many people have joined in resisting this occupation, many have been forced to hide away, literally afraid to walk outside for fear of being kidnapped by the federal government. It is a disgusting and devastating situation to say the absolute least. And yet, I am continually inspired by the people in my life and in my city who consistently do the most to support our neighbors in myriad ways. There are so many roles for each of us to play and endless help needed right now. I am reminded daily that Minneapolis is a beautiful and resilient city. I have always loved “Someone who loves me…” souvenir shirts. This type of shirt exists solely to be given as a gift to a loved one, it’s not something you’d likely buy for yourself. Even in its simplicity, it is a reminder of our connectedness across distance, and the importance of giving as an act of care.This design will be available through the end of March on my site with all profits going directly to rent support for my neighbors whose normal lives have been disrupted by being terrorized. I will be making weekly donations to @nhn_tc , who are doing a ton of work to distribute funds to different neighborhoods.I would encourage you to donate to this fund whether or not you buy a shirt, there are wonderful people on the ground here doing grassroots organizing here and making sure things get to the right people safely in a timely manner.Thank you for reading if you did, please stay safe and continue to denounce what is going on in whatever way makes sense for you!
