A day in life of a developer in 2035 🤖

I’ve been coding professionally for 10+ years, and if someone would have told me the reality of today in 2020 - I would never believe it - and thought we’d need at least 10-20 years to be there.

Meet Devin Desktop by @trycognition

It’s an agent command center where Devin coordinates my whole AI team, Claude, Codex and more Devins, all in one place.

I assigned the frontend to one agent, the backend to another, and watched the tests pass while I went to the beach 🤐

No tab switching. No babysitting. Just review and merge.

[AD] I’ve been using Devin more and more, and I’m loving it.

The new Devin Desktop app is impressive, and it handles engineering tasks like understanding unfamiliar codebases, investigating how things work, and helping you contribute faster.

In this video, I used Adaptive and DeepWiki to get up to speed on a codebase I didn’t know much about and figure out exactly where I could contribute.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to use AI as a software engineer. @trycognition

Do you still code? my short answer: yes, more than ever!! it just doesn’t look like it used to…

In 2026 we’re coding with agents: we give them context, direct them, test what they ship. And I run a few agents at once when the project’s big and I can keep up with them lol 😅
