17,239 rugby journeys.

Last season, Tryit Rugby reached thousands of people through schools, community groups, events and activities across the community.

Every session, every event and every opportunity to pick up a rugby ball helped someone take another step on their rugby journey.

A huge thank you to every player, school, community group, club, leader, volunteer, partner and everyone else who helped make it happen.

Growing the game, one pass at a time.

Here’s to another season of getting more people involved, giving more people the opportunity to play and creating even more rugby journeys.

Last season, across 7s, mixed-ability rugby and 15s games, we had the opportunity to use 80+ players, both male and female, representing TRYIT Rugby.

A huge thank you to every player who pulled on the TRYIT shirt, stepped onto the pitch and represented the programme. Your commitment, energy and support made last season a special one.

Thank you to everyone who represented TRYIT!

Dedication Award – Tom Dartnell 🏉

We want to take a moment to show our appreciation for Tom Dartnell, who has been part of the Tryit Sevens journey pretty much from the very beginning.

Tom has completely bought into what Tryit is about and has thrown himself into almost every tournament, experience and opportunity that has come his way. His contribution goes far beyond what he does on the pitch — his experience, attitude, energy and willingness to get involved have made him a huge part of the Tryit family.

We also want to give a massive shoutout to Tom’s mum, Sharon, for the famous brownies that have become a firm favourite with the team! 🍫😂 And a huge thank you to all of Tom’s family for the continued support they give us across the many things we do.

Tom was also a member of the Looseheads 24/7 World Record team, alongside our Operations Manager Catherine, and once again he threw himself into the challenge and everything that came with it.

Whatever the situation, whatever the experience, Tom has always been willing to get stuck in and give it a go — exactly what Tryit is all about.

Thank you, Tom, for everything you bring to Tryit. We really appreciate you! 💙🏉 by @tryit_rugby

PLAYER OF THE YEAR — TARAN MATHAUDA 🏆

A huge congratulations to Taran Mathauda, our TRYIT Rugby Player of the Year for the 2026 season, as voted for by his teammates.

Taran has been an important player for us across every tournament he has attended this season, consistently performing and making an impact for the side.

This year, he has really showcased what TRYIT is about — giving players the opportunity to test themselves against high-quality opposition, develop their game and compete at a higher level.

His performances throughout the season clearly stood out to his teammates, with Taran winning the Player of the Year vote by a landslide.

A fantastic season and a thoroughly deserved award. 👏

Congratulations, Taran.

COACHES’ PLAYER — JAY KAY 🏆

A huge congratulations to Jay Kay, our Coaches’ Player for the 2026 season, selected by our coaching team and management.

Jay has been part of TRYIT for the last 3–4 seasons, and this year his commitment to the team has really stood out.

His experience has brought a lot to the group, both on and off the field, while his leadership has been a big part of what makes him such an important player for our side.

He consistently leads by example, puts the team first and brings a level of experience that younger players can learn from.

We really appreciate everything Jay has put into TRYIT over the years and the contribution he continues to make to the team.

A thoroughly deserved award. 👏
