🎸📽 Filming the music video for "Strange" (TRYPTAMAX). I'm happy to announce our 2nd single is out now! This is a very emotional track for me, personally. The melodies came to me in 2018 upon the death of my father, so the song is inspired both musically and lyrically by this episode. It's a story about loss, how we change our relationship with it over time, and finding hope for the future. I'm sure anyone who's lost a loved one, be it a dear family member, a partner, or a pet, can relate. Hope you like it! ❤️🙏🏻 by @tryptamax
'The Empty' is a song I wrote about my life-changing DMT experiences. Those who have experienced it know how hard it is to describe. I hope to have done a worthy job capturing a bit of its magnificence and that you feel touched by our humble audiovisual translation of that magical, mystical realm. 🪬💫 Released on my 40th birthday, July 18th, 2023, this song marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life and the debut of my project TRYPTAMAX. This track is the first of many. Though primarily a solo endeavor, in the sense that I'm writing all the music (and lyrics), recording and producing everything, I'm joined by some amazing collaborators to make this dream come true. Will Shaw is the voice of TRYPTAMAX. We had been meaning to collaborate for years, ever since our EPIC "Metropolis Part 1" (Dream Theater) Split-Screen Cover, and this felt like the right moment and project to do so. You'll also notice my great friend Paulinho Drums, who was awesome enough to join us for this music video. On guitar, bass, and keys, yours truly. 🎁 There's a little musical nugget on the keyboard solo.. Let's see how many of you pick up on it! 😉🎹 As usual, like and leave me a comment so I know you checked it out and what you liked most about it! Rock on, my friends! 🤘🏻 #tryptamax #progmetal #guitarist #dreamtheater #mesaboogie #johnpetrucci by @tryptamax
🔥🎸 Hey everyone! I’ve been busy with TRYPTAMAX for the past few months, and I wanted to share some exciting updates with you! I’m writing an entire album, which will be titled ‘DARK MATTERS’. It’s in the writing/recording stage and should be out in a few months. I had initially intended to record and release track by track for this project, as singles, like we did with “The Empty” (already available on all platforms), but inspiration struck hard this year and we decided to go straight for the full-length album with 7-8 tracks of the finest prog/rock/metal craziness we all love! This will be the official debut of Tryptamax. My friend, the AMAZING singer Will Shaw, is onboard with me 100%! We can’t wait to get this out into the world and share the music with all of you (hopefully also LIVE soon)! The future is musical! For now, enjoy the intro to “A Night at Sea”.. there is a special backstory to this song, I’ve had it demoed since 2017 and it contains seeds for a future concept album that I have been cooking since 2013.. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.. Look forward to “Dark Matters” and let me know your thoughts on the comments below! @tryptamax by @tryptamax
Tudo produzido no meu homestudio.

🟥 TRYPTAMAX "The Empty" synth solo! 🎹 Did you check out the full song? What did you like most about it? 🎶 One of the coolest things for me about this new project is that I'm exploring so many areas of interest and artistic expression, from writing, to mixing and video production, going through the performances and programming of all instruments, lyrics, and all the extras. I've always been very hands-on in many areas of the projects and the bands I've been involved with, but never to this degree. This time, I'm voluntarily taking on all the necessary tasks to get the job done — and doing so unapologetically. Boy, does it feel good! 🤘 Hope you are enjoying what you are hearing so far and that you are as inspired and excited for the future of TRYPTAMAX as Will Shaw and I are. Out now! TRYPTAMAX is born! 🔥🪬 Enjoy the very first single from my new project. You can check out the full song/video on my YT channel! It's been a long time coming, and I'm so excited to finally share this music with you and unveil this new chapter of my life. 🎸👇 As I previously mentioned, this is my most sincere artistic outlet to date. Many of my longtime passions had to come together to morph into what is now becoming TRYPTAMAX — Composition, recording/programing of guitars, bass, drums, keys, lyrics and melodies, mixing, video production/editing, artwork, logo, and most importantly the concept, esthetics and direction of the whole project. Did I mention I like the creative process? Anyway.. I'm not a complete creative control freak just yet. Almost, but not quite. 😅 I am joined by the AMAZING vocalist and my dear North-American friend, Will Shaw, in bringing this dream into reality! 🌎 Ever since collabing back in 2009 for that EPIC Metropolis Part 1 (Dream Theater) Split-Screen Cover, we've been flerting with the idea of doing something cool together in the future. Many of you have also asked for it over the years. That time has arrived! 💫 It's not a solo project, Will is on board and will bless us all with his amazing talents! 🎤 For this video, I also invited another longtime friend and musical partner to be a badass on Drums, Paulinho, which he kindly accepted and totally owned. 🥁 The stars have definitely aligned for this, and I hope you enjoy this first release and stick around for the ride with us. There's lots more where this came from. 🤘 Comment below on the new song and video and your thoughts on the project! 👁 tryptamax.com #progmetal #musicman #guitarsolo #tryptamax by @tryptamax

🚀 Exciting News! I'm thrilled to unveil the official cover artwork for my upcoming single and debut of TRYPTAMAX! 🔥🎶 ⠀ ✨ Save the Date: July 18th, 2023 ✨ ⠀ For over a decade, I have been accumulating new music in my mind and in early demo stages on my computer that I've been eager to share with you all. The time has finally come! On July 18th, I will be 40, and I thought it would be the perfect date to debut my new project! TRYPTAMAX will be my new musical home for this next chapter of my life. It is much more than a "musical project," actually. It is my most sincere artistic outlet yet, and I'm very excited to get it off the ground. 🚀 If you've been following me for the last few years, you'll have noticed I like to get involved in many aspects of production, besides playing guitar — writing, recording, mixing, video, artwork, etc. TRYPTAMAX is the epitomy of that individual artistic expression.. almost.. I'm delighted to be joined by none other than the amazingly talented Will Shaw on vocals, who is collaborating with me to bring this dream into existence! 💫✨ If you don't remember who Will is, think of that epic Metropolis Part 1 Split-Screen Cover by VRA we did back in 2009. 😉 The release will be accompanied by a music video, Tabs, and other cool stuff! Stay tuned for the next updates. Your support means the world to me, and I'm grateful to have you on this musical journey with us. 🙏❤️ ⠀ Let's make this release one to remember!
