Que Deus te abençoe, meu filho. by @tsgsoares
Excited to open tomorrow this beautiful production of Madama Butterfly, singing with @margie.d.bernal and all the dear friends I met here in Colombia! Thank you, maestro @leomarulanda @tallerdeoperamanizales @clauleguizamon @germancamilodiaz and team. by @tsgsoares
Tomorrow I fly to Colombia to sing Puccini’s Madama Butterfly for the third time. I always repeat how lucky I am that music took me to so many places, meeting the most amazing people. From the nervous first time singing Pinkerton in Atlanta, to the dreamy open-air production in Belo Horizonte, and now excited to repeat the role in Manizales! A toast to the old and the new friends, and the moments we get to share! ❤️ the first photo is the beautiful poster to the production that I am honored to take part with @tallerdeoperamanizales. The next 4 photos are by the amazing photographer and my brother @soaresjr_fotografia from Belo Horizonte, 2013. The last two are from Atlanta, 2011. by @tsgsoares
Last week I had the honor of singing Brazilian art songs at the Canadian Opera Company Showcase’s series. I performed songs from Villa-Lobos, Claudio Santoro, Ernst Mahle, and Ernani Braga, at the Bradshaw Amphitheater, accompanied by the wonderful Ranallo-Tapia duo @yolandatapiano and @lennyranalloguitar . Thank you @the.morganproject and team. It’s been a week and I already feel “Saudade”. Photos by: Karen E. Reeves by @tsgsoares
What does it mean to miss a place, a person, or a moment in time? This Tuesday, we explore that question through the music of Brazil at the Four Seasons Centre, as part of the @canadianopera Showcase Series. 🎶 Our program features a special selection of Brazilian art songs exploring the many shades of saudade — a beautiful, untranslatable Portuguese word describing a deep longing for someone, somewhere, or something. With nostalgia and joy, the music of Villa-Lobos, Santoro, Braga, and Mahle opens a window into the heart of Brazil 🇧🇷💛 📍 Four Seasons Centre
