POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In 2015, a study reported that 6 in 10 Jamaican children are bullied at school. Worldwide, around 150 million young people experience bullying at or around their school. May is celebrated as child month under the theme ‘Children Need our Love and Protection…Get Involved.’

For the month of May, support a child’s #GoodHealthAndWellbeing 💛
▪ Be the safe space for a child to open up to
▪ Ask a child how they are and really listen
▪ Be an attentive teacher that reports or helps put a stop to bullying in schools
▪ Be a kind student: DON’T BE A BULLY
▪ Be a caring student, STAND UP FOR SOMEONE BEING BULLIED (even if they are not your friend)
▪ BE BRAVE. Be yourself and know that you are loved and needed and bullying doesn’t define you

▪ #iAmHuman is an anti-bullying campaign written by @tskbenjamin to increase awareness of bullying in Jamaica and challenge how we think about and treat others. The campaign's goal is to change our thoughts & attitudes toward bullying and move us to fight against it. It reminds us that our differences are what make us human; the one thing we all have in common ▪

Here’s my take on the film @romeonjuliet4eva that I saw at the @skylarkfilmfestival on the 3rd night ⚡️

The film featured a few seasoned actors alongside the student actors who added some flavour to the scenes but not enough context for me to understand the purpose of the film and why it was delivered in the verbatim way it was

Would love to chat with Paul Bucknor, the creator to understand his vision ⚡️

This #OneonOne with my father brought out some parts of him and our relationship I’ve been needing to explore 🍃

As I listen to him go off like a kid about his passions of teaching life skills to children I feel the regret that he didn’t get to teach them to his own. Amidst that though is hope that he can continue to live his life purpose and I respect that✨

Through it all, I’m reminded of his humanity and it makes me love this kid more ❤️
