My beautiful mom 🥰😇 This portrait took over 22 hours to complete.

I mostly used the watercolor brushes native to Procreate.

I finally figured out I could take a photo of some watercolor paper and add that as a layer. by @tsmartist

14 hours later this portrait of my daughter Olivia is complete.
I used the oil and turpentine brushes. Airbrush for the background. Hair and ink brushes for the hair. by @tsmartist

I saw this idea on Pinterest and it looked deceptively simple lol.

I know that foil and solder can cause a design to “grow,” but mathematically speaking I’m still not sure how to count for the foil, width, and solder in any given design.

So I figured out that if I designed the idea on procreate and made it measure 6 x 8 instead of 8 x 10 ( frame size) that would give me some wiggle room to create framing rectangles that I could put around the design so it could eventually fit into the frame.

During the creation process and resulting frustrations, I again was reminded that stained glass requires precise measurements, precise cutting, and precise grinding.

In short, this piece was a challenge!

Thank goodness my husband has woodworking skills and he was able to carve out a larger space in the back of the frame for the panel to fit because it is not precisely 8 x 10 lol. by @tsmartist

Experimenting today. I tried using stamping polish on stained glass and it works! It does not budge! Can’t wait to try this method on some finished stained glass pieces. by @tsmartist

I’m in love with this bowl!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and I knew I had to try it. It’s a great way to use a lot of scrap pieces. This bowl is purely decorative… I did not use lead free solder.

I made sure to create very thick solder lines to hopefully avoid any hinge points. I know I do have a couple of pieces that are only attached on two points so I’ll have to be very careful. It basically is going to be on display on a table.

If I had it to do over again, I would make sure to have many pieces of varying sizes. I found that I did not have enough small pieces to help fill in the gaps.
