“Since life is our greatest teacher I started paying attention in class. “ To go from a GED to a HONORARY DOCTORATE is evidence of my dedication and sacrifice. Had me going back in time to remember the things i used to do and what people said about me. This is evidence that your story ain’t over, we just need to make it worth watching. This is evidence that you can do the impossible. It’s all up to you

For someone that never had this on before, it fits.

Thank you God.

Signed,
Dr. Ryan S. Harvey

Pain is gas for me.

When i want to accomplish something and i make mistakes just through life and along the way. I look at that as m “unleaded gas for me” it’s cheap in some places but that mistake will cost you more in other places. It will get you where you need to go but Hurry up cause it burns fast.

Now after reading that you would say what in the world is the “premium gas” well for me. Premium gas is the pain that life gives you. We all have come to face it. Like death no one can get away from it. I can think of a premium gas moment. When my father died at the age of 5. That was real pain that could have parked me through blaming and day dreaming. But owning it drives me to this day to become a better man and father.

How do you use your pain?

“He don’t just talk about change he walks it. From the streets to the stage, my brother’s mission is peace, unity, and real accountability. Tonight’s episode of #WhatTheyWontSay ain’t about bashing it’s about building. Tap in live and feel the energy that’s shifting the city.” 8pm sharp WTWS BEAT ME THERE ‼️ by @tsmitr

We spend so much time searching for the next strategy, the next mentor, the next opportunity, or the next breakthrough that we forget the greatest investment we can ever make is becoming ourselves. Your greatest advantage has never been looking like everyone else. It’s having the courage to develop the gifts, character, and perspective that only your journey could produce. The world doesn’t reward copies for long. It remembers people who become authentic enough to leave something only they could have created.

What part of yourself are you committed to developing instead of comparing? Let’s talk about it below. 👇

For more than ten years, I’ve been grinding, studying, speaking, failing, growing, and putting myself to the test, trying to become the speaker I knew I could be. There were seasons when nobody was watching, moments when I questioned the journey, and environments that could have convinced me to quit. But purpose kept calling me forward. Today, I’m honored to announce that I’ll be speaking at my first national conference in Portland, Oregon. This moment is bigger than an opportunity. It’s proof that dedication eventually introduces you to rooms your talent alone never could. If you’ve followed my journey, I hope this reminds you that your environment does not have the final say. Commitment does. Stay faithful to the work, even when the results aren’t visible. One day, the world will see what you’ve been building all along. taken in Portland Oregon by @tsmitr

The greatest vision isn’t seeing farther than everyone else. It’s seeing yourself more clearly than you did yesterday. Self-awareness is the foundation of wisdom, and wisdom is the foundation of strength. Before you try to change the world, learn to see yourself without excuses, ego, or emotion.

Comfort rarely announces itself as the enemy. It shows up as “I’ll do it tomorrow,” “I’m tired,” or “I’ve got time.” Before you know it, what’s familiar becomes more attractive than what’s possible. The strongest man in the room understands that growth begins where comfort ends. Don’t let a comfortable life rob you of an extraordinary one.

Endurance is one of the greatest requirements for anyone chasing a dream. Not every setback is there to stop you, and not every delay is there to punish you. Some experiences exist to prepare you for a responsibility you are not ready to carry yet. It is like forging steel. The fire is not meant to destroy the metal, it is meant to strengthen it. If the steel could think, it might believe it was being punished, when in reality it was being prepared for a purpose greater than its current form.
Life works the same way. You will not always understand why certain lessons keep repeating, why doors keep closing, or why the pressure seems relentless. Often, the meaning is only revealed after you’ve made it through. Looking back, what once felt like opposition becomes obvious preparation.
The people who fulfill their purpose are rarely the ones who avoid hardship. They are the ones who endure it long enough to discover what it was trying to teach them. Stay in the process. One day you’ll realize your greatest obstacles were your greatest instructors.

This past week mentoring at the @harvey.foundation was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.
I went there knowing the focus was to pour into young men. I left realizing that while we were helping transform their lives, God was continuing to confirm my own purpose.
There were moments all week that reminded me how connected our journeys really are. From being kicked out of school as a young man and ending up in military school sleeping on a cot, to years later standing in a room with some of the people I once looked up to and receiving confirmation that everything I have gone through was preparing me for moments like this. Every setback, every challenge, every lesson suddenly felt connected.
For six days, 24 hours a day, we poured into these young men. We talked about manhood, accountability, purpose, healing, leadership, vulnerability, and what it means to navigate life without certain guidance that many of us take for granted. The intensity of the workshops, the conversations, and the breakthroughs were unlike anything I have experienced.
What moved me most was witnessing the courage of these young men. Many came from fatherless homes. Many carried pain, questions, and burdens they had never fully expressed. To watch them become vulnerable, to watch them trust, to watch them grow in such a short period of time was powerful beyond words. Their willingness to be open made my own journey with vulnerability mean even more.
Military school taught me discipline. The relationships I built with men in the military taught me brotherhood, sacrifice, and accountability. This week reminded me how valuable those lessons truly are. The fellowship between the mentors, soldiers, staff, and young men was something special. It was authentic. It was healing. It was transformational.
Some experiences change your schedule. Others change your life.
This one changed my life.
I will forever be grateful for every young man who trusted the process, every mentor who showed up, every soldier who shared their wisdom, and every moment that reminded me that our greatest struggles often become our greatest qualifications to serve others.
