Dear Toyia and dear Derk,
Losing 2 people in less then 3.5 weeks time broke my heart in more peaces I knew was possible. Taking Toyia to her final resting place while Derk was literally fighting for his life and adding extra days that even the doctors did not think was possible till the moment I came back to the Netherlands so we would be able to say our goodbyes in person….

Crying, laughing and making fun of the weird paths life takes you down sometimes.

But… as both of you loved life to the max, each in your own unique, classy, stubborn, headstrong and powerful way, I am so proud to say we pulled through with family, chosen family, friends and loved ones.

So this is for you both, and for the village of friends, family and chosen family both in the US and in the Netherlands that came through to love and support and even travel with me so we could also create loving memories and not just sad ones. Cause life clearly is too short some times.

A very special shout out to my baby brother and my dear friend that allowed me to take this difficult journey and still turn it into beautiful moments with love, many tears but even more laughter. As both of you would have wanted. Or kicked our ass if we didn’t.

For ever in my hearts
✨✨🩷💙💜💚✨✨

Dear Toyia.
When words fail, emotions go numb, let our vibes do the talking.

While you continued to keep saying cancer could not have you, we kept working and grinding together for over these last 5 years on the most important projects of our mutual lives.

Business projects fueled by personal inner drive.
To do good, to always remain authentic, to keep telling the true stories.

From hectics travels around the world to peaceful, fun & private moments in between 16 hours working days.
From business meetings to shootdays to showdays to heart 2 heart personal friends & family times with good food, great drinks and love & laughter.

From Amsterdam to LA.
From LA to France.
From France to Vegas.

And just when our current project is wrapping up and made ready for launch later this year, we decided we would stop working for a while and just celebrate. Celebrate life. Celebrate love. Celebrate friendship and unwind. In Italy and Greece. The places you wanted to go to more then anything. To rest up, revitalize and get well again.

Then Siggy’s most dreaded call came last week. “Are you sitting down sweety…”
My first thought was that you would pop up on the screen, as you always did.
Smiling, goofing around, saying “hey powerwoman, I’m back”.
Because we made a deal that cancer would not have you. But it did.

Our company Legacy Global gets a heartbreaking new meaning now, realizing that your legacy will be one of memories.

Thank you for walking your walk of life with us. We will continue with power and make you proud. You will forever be loved and missed.

Dear Toyia.
Rest now, sweet warrior of light ✨✨✨🕊️💕
