Here’s what your doctor probably won’t tell you..

What you’re seeing here is called topical steroid withdrawal (TSW), something so many people are never warned about before being prescribed topical steroids for eczema.

Topical steroids suppress inflammation and constrict blood vessels, but over time the skin can become dependent on them. When they’re stopped, the body can rebound intensely, leading to severe redness, burning, heat, flaking, extreme itching, hypersensitivity, oozing, and skin that struggles to properly regulate and repair itself.

And the heartbreaking part? So many people are prescribed these medications without ever being told this can happen.

Huge credit to @tsw_scotty for sharing his journey so openly and for showing people that healing IS possible. He’s done an incredible job (through his own system and research) in supporting his body naturally and coming out the other side of this. Go give him a follow to learn more about his work & Send him lots of love and encouragement, he’s done an amazing job!
🕊️❤️‍🩹

This is exactly why I’m so passionate about helping parents address eczema from the inside out instead of only suppressing symptoms on the surface. The body is capable of healing when we start supporting the gut, lowering inflammation naturally, refining the diet, and giving the body the tools it actually needs to restore balance.

If you’re ready to learn the exact system we used to heal my son’s eczema in under 60 days (without topical steroids), Comment “HEALING” and I’ll send you my step-by-step eczema system ♥️

Trigger warning - TSW Awareness Day. The images speak for themselves.

TSW is a preventable iatrogenic condition, if only dermatology patients were fully informed of the life-altering, long term potential consequences of topical steroid usage on the skin.

Want to see an incredible recovery?

It took me 3 months.

Of course, that’s not the whole story. There are lots of other factors to consider.

Can anyone expect these results? I don’t know. I’d love to see more people in TSW dedicate themselves in the same way to these “methods”. Maybe they’d heal even faster than me. Maybe they wouldn’t. Impossible to know unless others try.

What I’m showing is a living demonstration of what is possible.

This is not medical advice. I’m not a scientist or healthcare professional. I’m just a guy trying to fix his health and live a fulfilling life once again.

That was taken from me, and I restructured my entire lifestyle to heal. Im not perfect, but I am committed if nothing else. There is room for further improvement, and I’ll continue to refine.

My current skin is not 100% perfect & healed. I still have further to go on the surface. It’s made tremendous improvement for 3 months and I’m able to build melanin on most of my body. I still have some patches healing that were deeper wounds.

Internally, I have a long way to go. I’m 1 year 3.5 months into TSW. This flare started in Fall 2025 & worsened until mid January. I’m still not 100% certain of the trigger(s). What I know is my body is still highly reactive and volatile.

No amount of HBOT, RLT/NIR & Sun can stop my flaring in its tracks. The body decides when it will stop. It does lessen the overall symptoms, however.

So, from Jan 16 - April 16, I consider this 3 month recovery. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

Why Jan 16? This was when I felt like “this flare seems like it finally stopped getting worse” + I started my first session of HBOT that day. The timing was intentional and with foresight.

I’ve done HBOT many times before, but I had taken several months off, so I was not receiving any residual benefit from it at the point of Jan 16, 2026.

My RLT device also contains NIR & other lightwaves for a balanced spectrum. It’s not solely Red. I use it almost daily.

I receive as much Sun as my body can utilize, without burning. There is massive nuance to this conversation. The Sun is incredibly important for health & healing.

Thinking about Red Light Therapy (RLT) in Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW)?

Good decision.

RLT can be a game changer in TSW healing.

Here’s some things you should consider before investing in RLT.

Certain medications and conditions can make you photosensitive. Photosensitivity can interfere with effectively receiving the benefits of RLT.

You can receive all the same benefits from full spectrum Sun 🌞 at any time of the day.

Not all RLT panels are the same. Look into what wavelengths the panel emits, irradiance, energy dose, and panel size & coverage.

Investing in a RLT panel for healing TSW is an area where you probably shouldn’t “cut corners”, if you can help it.

Reflecting.

Two strangers approached me walking alone on the beach.

They captured this image & shared it with me.

I couldn’t help but be moved by its symbolism in my life.

While I walk it alone in solitude, this path has been walked by many that have come before me.

Others will follow behind me & leave their own footprints.

Each of our prints will be erased in time by the flow of the earth.

Every step we take in life is a choice, both temporary and eternal.

Our choices will echo in eternity, as they shape the future form of the earth. Then they will be forgotten across generations.

My path and choices have been harder than many & easier than others.

This journey has taken my life, shattered it, formed new pieces & has slowly offered them back to me to rebuild a new life.

Piece by piece. Step by step. Choice by choice.

I have faith in my destination. I can see it in my future.

Though I am unsure how many steps & the time it will take to arrive.

I have traveled far, and still I have much further to go.

We are tasked to put one foot in front of the other, each day under the Sun, until we are called home to rest. by @tsw_scotty

Humans are inextricably connected to nature. We are a part of it. The further we drift from nature, the further we drift from our health.

Nature has incredible benefits for the body when we step outside (barefoot, especially).

No sunglasses, no sunscreen, bare feet. This is the intended design of our bodies. When we do this, we maximize the benefits to our health.

Living in a cramped, polluted, LED covered city with limited access to nature takes a toll on our health. The benefits can be drastic when we remove ourselves from toxic environments and reconnect to the Earth. That was my circumstance for a decade before I moved to the beach to heal my body.

Turns out, there’s much more to the health equation than simply Sun & Sea (although, those are both relevant factors). We often overlook the health and anti-inflammatory benefits of breathing ocean air, grounding, and stress relief for our bodies.

You don’t have to be at the beach to get most of the same benefits! You can take off your shoes, get some Sun and walk (or lay) in the grass, a field or a forest. 🌞🌿🌲

If you’re in TSW, I personally do not recommend ocean swimming/submersion, at least until your skin barrier is resilient enough to withstand interaction with water in the late stages of healing. Particularly if you are immunosuppressed or have deep open wounds. While there are benefits of ocean swimming, there are also significant risks in the tradeoff. The safe bet is to walk along the edge until your body & skin is strong enough. I previously posted about ocean risks & it spurred some spirited dialogue. To reiterate and make it abundantly clear, ocean swimming does have benefits, but in TSW where the stakes are high, the risks often outweigh the benefits, depending on the stage of healing a person is at in their healing journey. You can effectively get the vast majority of all the same benefits by walking along the water & eliminate risk.

What benefits did I miss? 🧐
