‘Australia’s Biggest Babies’
Triptych
Oil on recycled canvas
40cm x 60cm per panel, 120cm x 60cm total

This artwork depicts the heads of three Australian billionaires — Clive Palmer, Gina Rinehart, and Robin Khuda — on infant bodies. Using satire and humour, the work critiques extreme wealth, political influence and the social consequences of uncapped capitalist gain.

The baby metaphor is twofold: it suggests the emotional immaturity that accompanies extreme wealth, while also representing fertile ground for political and social growth. The work highlights the absurdity of immense private fortunes continuing to accumulate while essential resources remain underfunded. The work calls for greater taxation of extreme wealth and limits on billionaire influence in politics. It also nods towards the potential for great societal growth upon movement towards wealth distribution.

Amid rising costs and stagnant wages, the artist argues that society is being encouraged to turn against itself. Instead, the work asks us to look upward — at the concentration of wealth and power — and consider collective action for a fairer future.

Recently had a vivid mental image when listening to the lyrics of ‘Chemistry’ by @kimyadawson , ‘washed away the empty space in between my ears’. Simply had to be painted. Leave your brain at the shore. by @ttazcat

Found some old drawings/paintings from 2020. So nice to reflect on how much has changed, artistically, emotionally, and more generally. Growth is a wonderful thing. Keep going. by @ttazcat

My latest painting exploring my experience of having a strong and vivid imagination, detachment whilst being rooted in reality, the flexibility of the mind, and persisting with youthful joy despite all against it.

So fun to play with surrealism and the first time I’ve touched oil paint since high school

I’m not sure if it’s finished but I’m finished with it, at least for now

‘Barbara the chicken’ shirt for @danidellagrotta using an old lino from high school, which I most likely made sitting right next to Dani, not realising I would use it for her 25th birthday present 🐓🪱 by @ttazcat
