🇹🇹 Happy Republic Day, Trinidad and Tobago! 🇹🇹

The City of San Fernando, in collaboration with the Scouting Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force, Boys’ Brigade Trinidad and Tobago, and Trinidad and Tobago Pathfinders, proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Youth Republic Day Parade on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Skinner Park.

His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Robert Parris, inspected the parade and the Mayor and both Members of Parliament, the Honourable MP for San Fernando East, Mr. Brian Manning, and the Honourable MP for San Fernando West, Dr. Michael Dowlath. were honoured with the energetic Grand Howl by the Brownies and Cub Scouts.

The Mayor’s Civic Award and other awards were presented to outstanding young people by His Worship and the Mps, who demonstrated exemplary achievements and contributions over the past year, with youth leaders from the participating organisations joining in the celebrations.

At the Civic Reception, His Worship delivered a toast in recognition of Trinidad and Tobago’s 50 years as a Republic. Deputy Mayor Alderman Patricia Alexis and Councillors Naigum Joseph and John Michael Alibocus were also in attendance.

The Mayor also urged leaders to continue placing our nation’s youth at the centre of decision-making as our nation has reached maturity, emphasising the importance of making smart, forward-thinking decisions that safeguard their opportunities and future.

As we celebrate 50 years as a Republic, may we continue to empower, inspire and invest in the young people who will shape the future of Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹❤️
