Derby City BMX National weekend Recap:

Friday Taytum had total points racing and ended up going 3-3-3 for 3rd overall and ended the evening with her first podium at a national race.

Saturday she had to get into mains and she got 4th the first round and had to run the next round to get in but she went out and won it. In the main she struggled out of the gate but ended the night with a 4th place finish.

Sunday came and had another day of making mains. She missed getting in first round by 1 spot. Second round she got in with a 2nd. Come time for main events she got pinched off the start and then tried to come from behind but just couldn’t get it done even though she pushed and gave it her all, but she got up to 5th.

This weekend was great! She got a podium, a moto win and kept herself off the ground which is a win on its own since the last month or so has been a rough one for crashes. We are going to keep on working and pushing. She sure makes Dad proud. taken in Derby City BMX by @tterrell452

DISL Round 2 at M1 Concourse recap

I was seeded due to my finish at Round 1 so I got lucky and didn’t have to qualify in the absolute pouring rain. Watch the homies throw down though and everyone killed it considering conditions. Went into top 32 with no laps after the rain but got lucky enough that track was dry enough to let it eat.

Top 32 was against @ssarahh.o . I tried to put down a consistent and wide lead lap to allow some good chases and felt like that was accomplished. Went for the follow and she threw down a killer lead which let me stay in the pocket and got the win.

Top 16 was against @nick1199dimitri (which I don’t have those battles on video unfortunately). These battles were a blast. I put down another great lead and Nick threw it down and kept me honest. Dude was a machine. When it came to the follow I threw it in hard behind him, there was some small corrections and mistakes on both parts. We ended up going OMT. Our OMT run I threw down another good lead but again he was stuck to me. The follow I was able to stick to him and he sent it a tad far outside in OZ3 which ultimately gave me the win. Can’t wait for more laps with this dude.

Great 8 brought on @boxtop.collector and this dude is an absolute unit. Guy was 2nd in points after Rd. 1 and seeded 1st for this event. Had to follow first this battle. I underestimated how quick he’d be and didn’t air down the rears like I should’ve. Wanted the car loose like it had been. He got a little gap on me and I couldn’t close it unless I would’ve chopped line. He put a good lead down. Come to my lead and I feel like I threw down as hard as I could and hit every mark but it wasn’t enough to shake him. He got the win and then went on the win the event. Watch out because this guy is on one and is an animal.

All in all this weekend ruled! We are still feeling good in the car and will be ready for round 3. Working on getting better every time out and having fun!
