Cinema is important to me.
It's like a prism. A good film... is part of my life. With every good film I see, I feel reborn - Hossein Sabzian.

Odin’s firstborn...The Goddess of Death...The baddest unforgotten heir to Asgard..!

First appearing in Journey into Mystery #102 (1964).. Hela, like her cinematic counterpart in Thor: Ragnarok, is portrayed as Thor’s elder sister, the comics establish her as the daughter of Loki and the giantess Angrboda, making her Thor’s niece. Ruling over Hel and Niflheim, the realms of the dead, she commands an arsenal of conjured blades and possesses superhuman strength, formidable sorcery, necromancy, and dominion over the dead. Even the mightiest Asgardians are not beyond her reach. She doesn't merely rule the realm of death. She makes even gods fear it...

And the amount of scepticism surrounding whether Cate Blanchett could pull off such a powerful character..!? Every single doubt was silenced the moment she appeared as Hela. She didn't just play the Goddess of Death. She owned every frame !

Still one of the greatest castings of the 2000s...
Kate Beckinsale as Selene in Underworld (2003). A vampire death dealer caught in a centuries old war, seeking vengeance for her family, only to discover that Viktor, the man she considered her father, was responsible for this whole tragedy...
Forget the plot for a second..The AURA this woman had.
I still remember the fascination of watching her for the very first time in my early days. The moment she appeared on screen, I was just sitting there thinking, My God, WHO IS SHE !?
Kate Beckinsale had us all hooked on vampires...

you have to adore Nana Patekar, as an actor.. more than you can possibly explain. There are performers you admire, and then there are performers who remind you why you fell in love with cinema in the first place...
Nana was one of them...

From the terrifying psychotic villain in Parinda, to intense, powerful roles in films like Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan, Natsamrat, Salaam bombay and then, somehow, becoming one of the funniest characters in Hindi cinema as Uday Shetty in Welcome...
That kind of range is rare.

Gone too soon.

The second trailer for Doomsday just dropped and it actually gave us a vivid idea that the story might be much more personal than we expected.

In the comics, Cynthia Von Doom makes a deal with Mephisto, trading her soul for the power to fight against the people in Latveria who were persecuting her. But the deal ultimately costs her life. After her death, her soul is taken by Mephisto and kept trapped in his realm. And this becomes one of the biggest driving forces in Victor Von Doom’s life. His obsession with saving his mother pushes him deeper into science, magic, and eventually onto the path that turns him into Doctor Doom.

And now the trailer shows us Victor grieving his mother, while basically telling us that the Avengers have all stolen something from fate. Steve went back and lived a life he was never supposed to. Loki escaped the fate that was written for him. Everyone has been messing with time, destiny and the multiverse. And Doom’s mindset seems to be, “If I cannot have the people I love, then why should anyone else get to have theirs?” So now he is going to rewrite the fate of all of them.

And then we have the incursions happening between these three Earths. The Fantastic Four Earth, what seems to be the X-Men Earth, where I am guessing we might see Tobey Maguire’s Spider Man as the only major hero there and our very own Earth 616..

I am wondering how they are going to connect all these plots into one story or more importantly, how the hell they are going to explain why Doom has the exact same face as Ironman !

Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Masterpiece you prefer not to watch again...
Is an American psychological drama that is often described as one of the most disturbing films ever made, directed by Darren Aronofsky, starring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Wayans.

The film follows four interconnected characters whose dreams slowly crumble under the weight of drug addiction. I loved how beautifully all four stories are woven together, making every downfall feel even more devastating.

The camera work, editing, Clint Mansell's haunting score, and the overall drama are absolutely on point. It is disturbing, emotionally exhausting and unforgettable. Every dramatic beat pulls you deeper into the characters' psychological unraveling, making you feel their despair instead of simply watching it.

The film received widespread critical acclaim, with Ellen Burstyn earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
