TTYL: Chapter 1 opened its doors yesterday at Cafe Zubaan, Koramangala

We want to take a big long exhale and thank every one of you that showed up with warm tea, tea cakes, crocheted material, sweets, buntings, gifts of books, bands and reshared our posts and set everything up for us.

We were nervous and you made us feel so loved and taken care of.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for everything and we hope to see more of you in a month.

Special thanks to Ajantha for the infinite generosity of spirit and thoughtfulness for our bookmarks and helping us every step of the way. And all the staff and folks at Cafe Zubaan.

We also want to thank all of you that gave us feedback on timings that suit you better and days and we hope to be able to accommodate that for you :)

What do you hope for in a venue, when you have butterflies for your first ever event?

I happened to walk into Cafe Zubaan for an author reading a couple of years back and the staff generously kept giving me complimentary tea. They had the most lovely bookshelf with a lovingly curated set of books and every single person - the owners, the people serving, friends and well wishers made sure to make you feel like a part of them and not a first time visitor.

When we launched TTYL, we not only had the lovely folks at Zubaan offer us their space, but go into incredible detail about all the ways they had our back - from physical support, to donations and anything else we need. Plus, we feel comforted in what they stand for and how they walk the talk.

So, it feels absolutely imperative that we begin our first reading here.

Located in Koramangala, we'll have access to a terrace space, with some tea and lots of books. Bring yourselves, the young humans in your life, friends and show up :)

Presenting the first edition of the Bangalore mobile library: TTYlibrary in association with Cafe Zubaan

Hey Bangalore bookstores, libraries, publishers

We would love to have you as a venue partner for our initiative. Or books you can lend. Or any other way you can partner with us.

We're new here and are a mobile library hoping to take books to any places people can come together and read. Let's talk by @ttylibraryblr

We're crowdsourcing!

Have anything you're happy to give away?

The only catch is, we're curating and not just collecting, as we don't have a storage space. So, please send us a DM if you have a list of books/ things you're happy to send us and we'll let you know if we can take them.

Please know that our library becomes more accessible only with these donations, so give generously - whether in books/ funds. by @ttylibraryblr
