I'm jumping up and down! Real Simple magazine put my novel, The Heiress of Northanger Abbey, on its list of books "perfect for fall reading"! My novel is the "cozier" choice :) Two weeks left until publication date and this is a real boost #gothic #janeausten taken in Hudson Valley, NY by @tudorscribe

I am absolutely thrilled to share this review of 'The Heiress of Northanger Abbey' that came from BlueInk review, which is published in the October issue of BOOKLIST. BlueInk Review gave the book a star and Booklist is sharing.

Taking Catherine (Morland) Tilney back to Bath two decades later to face the manipulative Thorpes--and a new Gothic mystery--was such a joy to write.

Thank you so much to BOOKLIST and BLUEINK REVIEW.

It's the calm before the storm. A beautiful sunset ... And a strange feeling in the air. Tomorrow comes the Nor'easter... Very #Gothic vibe! taken in Hudson Valley, NY by @tudorscribe

I'm so grateful for this review of 'The Heiress of Northanger Abbey' from novelist Syrie James! She's the author of 'The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen' and a bunch of wonderful novels of historical mystery, historical romance, contemporary romance and young adult that have landed on bestseller lists and award rolls. I discovered Syrie's work with 'Dracula, My Love: A Gothic Paranormal Romance- Mina Harker's Forbidden Victorian Passion'. I absolutely loved it! Most recently I read the charming mystery 'Danger at Darkmoor Park.' Her support of my historical mystery, a sequel to Northanger Abbey, means so much to me! taken in Hudson Valley, NY by @tudorscribe

What if we knew what Catherine Morland’s life looked like 20 years later?

Catherine is now a wife and mother, and her daughter gets tangled up with the Thorpe family. She can’t prove it yet, but she just knows something is very, very wrong.

I LOVED the mother/daughter theme and how Catherine showed how a mother’s love knows no bounds.

I loved this book for so many reasons, some of which are:

🕯️ the amazing gothic atmosphere
🕯️ family secrets and unknown motives
🕯️ the suspense was spot on to keep me super engaged
🕯️ being back in the world of Northanger Abbey
🕯️ give me alllllllll the Jane Austen nostalgia!!!
🕯️ the mother/daughter relationship

Being back in the world of Catherine Morland was such a fun adventure, and I just KNOW you’ll love it if you enjoy Jane Austen novels!!
