From Tufts DPT Boston student to clinician, mentor and Clinical Instructor. 💙

Meet DR. MICHELE LI, PT, DPT, a member of the 💙Tufts DPT Boston Class of 2022.

Michele came to physical therapy with a simple “why” — she wanted to help people. What she discovered along the way was a profession that allowed her to build meaningful relationships, solve problems and be part of her patients' progress over time.

Today, Michele is a Clinic Manager and Physical Therapist at Marathon Physical Therapy in Wellesley, MA, primarily working with orthopedic patients while also treating in women's health. She is certified in dry needling, earned her COMT in 2024, and is currently pursuing an orthopedic fellowship.

...but her Tufts journey didn't end when she graduated.

As a Clinical Instructor, Michele now helps guide the next generation of physical therapists — including Tufts DPT students completing their clinical education. And that impact came full circle when members of the Tufts DPT Boston Class of 2025 invited Michele to their graduation and asked her to hood them as they became Doctors of Physical Therapy. 🎓💙

When asked what Tufts taught her, Michele shared one phrase she remembers hearing again and again:

“It depends.”

As she has grown as a clinician, she's realized just how true those words are. Patient care isn't about finding one “right” answer. It's about asking questions, considering the bigger picture and figuring out what makes the most sense for the individual in front of you.

Her advice to future PT students? Stay curious and have fun.

Perhaps the best summary of Michele's journey comes from her own words:
“My Tufts DPT experience gave me a strong foundation and the curiosity to keep exploring everything that physical therapy has to offer.”

We're proud to call Michele a Tufts DPT alum and grateful for the impact she continues to have on our students and the profession. 💙

Where will your Tufts DPT journey take you?
