It’s wooly wash day! I like to hand wash all of my woolens, even superwash yarns. I think it helps them last longer and I was to preserve my projects as long as possible through gentle treatment and mending.

As usual, having the right tools makes the job easier. Sock Soap from @tuftwoolens has been my go to for years, and I love that it’s a bar soap with plastic free packaging. I was recently gifted a @strucket which makes the washing and draining process a lot easier. It’s a bucket with a strainer that lifts out to rest on the side of the bucket plus there’s a drainage spigot. Especially with a rinse-free wool wash it’s super easy. After letting gravity remove most of the water, I roll items up in a towel to wick out more moisture and then lay them out on a drying rack. by @tuftwoolens

I’m so excited to show you all our newest creation. Luxury Lanolin Lip Balm! We’ve been blending and sampling for the last year to make this new formula the very best. We’ve taken our favorite local beeswax and blended it with Coconut oil, Cocoa & Shea butter and Midwest-grown soybean oil along with a huge dollop of lanolin. This stuff feels like pure luxury. Smooth and creamy, not waxy or sticky, and the perfect amount of your favorite flavor.

Currently Available in Honey, Cardamom and Vanilla Bourbon. New flavors will be added each week. Also available in waste free tins.

Where are my fellow sandalwood lovers?!? I finally found an ethical sandalwood oil that I LOVE and we’re working on a new cozy blend for Fall.

Our soap coffers are full here at Tuft HQ, so I’ve added three of our new test blends to the “Mad Scientist” listing in our shop:

The first is Sandalwood blended with a beautiful aged patchouli (my personal favorite), then we blended sandalwood with earthy peppercorn and finally sandalwood with Texas cedarwood. Keep your eyes out for the new soap in the finished blend in early Fall!!
