A while back, @matthewdayjackson and @tb60cycle recorded a cover of Dazzle, by Siouxsie and the Banshees. To sing the song, Matt wore a helmet identical to the one Captain Joseph Kittinger wore when he made the record jump from the edge of space, at over 19 miles above the Earth’s surface. The helmet was outfitted with a microphone, giving his voice the crowded close sound. It was difficult to breathe.
Kittinger’s record jump on August 16, 1960 sent him free falling at over 600 mph. His pressure suit had failed during the ascent and didn’t fully seal his right hand, which swelled to twice the size. Kittinger held this record for highest free-fall jump for 52 years. “There’s no way you can visualise the speed. You know you are going very fast, but you don’t feel it. You don’t have a 614mph wind blowing on you. I could only hear myself breathing in the helmet.”
This is one of several films Matt Tim and I have made over the years. I took the NASA film of Kittinger’s jump and edited it to the song, although it didn’t need much, it lined up almost perfectly.
Colonel Joseph Kittinger passed way on Dec 9, 2022. He was 94 yo. RIP Colonel.

・・・
"Simchas and Sorrows" is a dramedy about a secular artist and former Catholic school girl, Agnes, who must come to terms with religion in order to marry the love of her life - Levi. Shocked by a surprise pregnancy, Agnes begins converting, in order to be accepted by Levi's family. As Agnes and Levi study with the progressive Rabbi Cohen, they discover all is not what it appears to be on the surface. As family secrets come to light, Agnes and Levi are forced to grapple with life's big questions.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this film possible. We truly couldn't have done it without you.

Another page is turning.

My love and light @clairehungdesign (aka @claire.a.hung) is carrying our child with grace and strength.

Had a few opportunities to go to the Catskills this past summer and we found this road near our friend’s house.

Can’t wait to meet the little one.

Thank you @chrissheller 🏠
