@wildflower_cafe_tulsa is back! And we are just so happy to have their coconut syrup back in our lives. This is the kind of place that just feels like home when you’re there. It is such a beautiful space and they have exciting plans in the coming months to open a coffee shop and market. We are so thrilled for them and are already planning our next breakfast date 📍913 S Boulder Ave. 🌸🥞🌻☕️🧇🌷#tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsacafe taken in Wildflower Cafe by @tulsafood

We love Indian food and @tandooriguys is one of our top picks in t-town. On a recent visit, they brought us out a bunch of their classic dishes to feature, including veggie samosas, tandoori chicken, tikka masala, biryani rice, and butter naan. They also have a pretty decent sized menu with plenty of authentic variety if you’re hunting for something a bit more out of the ordinary. Everything was delicious as always and so full of flavor, but the biryani was one of the standouts for us; it had just the right amount of spice and we couldn’t stop eating it. The tandoori chicken was super tender and the tikka masala had a strong, spice-forward heat that wasn’t too overpowering. We rounded things off with an order of their Gulab jamun, deep-fried dough balls soaked in a warm, sweet sugar syrup infused with rose, cardamom and saffron—delicious!

We paired everything with a hot chai tea, mango lassi and rose milk (both bottled in-house to go!). If you want to try a bit of everything, they offer a sizeable lunch buffet on weekdays, plus a buffet and full dinner menu on weekends.

Anyone who knows us knows Ev is pretty much always on the lookout for a great bánh mì. Tulsa has some incredible options scattered across town, but Lo Bánh Mì Viet Hot Bread is always right at the top of our list when we’re craving the real deal. Tucked into a shopping center out on 31st and 129th E Ave in East Tulsa, it’s a true, classic hole in the wall; no seating, no frills, just grab and go. We got the Special and the Chinese BBQ Pork bánh mì on our last trip there and both were delicious. The bread really stands out and is often what really makes a huge difference in a great banh mi. On top of that, the prices (~$6-7/sandwich) are super reasonable for the quality you get (plus they have a buy 4 get 1 free deal if you’re feeding a group). We couldn’t skip out on their Boba Smoothies; the Coconut is Ev’s favorite but we get recommended the Honeydew smoothie all the time as well and their Vietnamese Iced Coffee was great too!

If you haven’t been yet and you love a good authentic Banh Mi, this is one of those local hidden gems you need to add to your list.

Moonsky’s has been a neighborhood fixture on East Pine Street for decades. The hole in the wall operates as a licensed Daylight Donuts in the morning, shifting gears to a Cheesesteak and Po’ Boy shop for lunch. You don’t come here for the decor, it’s all about the food. There’s a reason they’ve been a staple for so long in Tulsa. If it’s your first time, check out the Cajun Chicken & Shrimp cheesesteak; but don’t miss their Shrimp Po’ Boys and their Kimbop (like a sushi roll but with ham/spam). They also have a variety of other po’ boys, croissant sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, Cajun pies, sausage rolls, eggrolls, and, of course all the donuts you could want. We arrived early, but a steady stream of regulars came and went the entire time we were there. A testament to their popularity over the years. This is one of those true Tulsa gems, and if you weren’t in the know, well now you are! #tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsaok taken in Moonsky's Cheese Steaks And Daylight Donuts by @tulsafood

We recently stopped by @phinesso.coffee and we’re still thinking about their beautiful and delicious Croffles (croissant waffles)! We were also blown away by the hospitality of owners Vy & Ha. They’ve created such a unique and cool coffee shop where they brew Vietnamese coffee all day, make all their baked goods in house, and Vy is always coming up with unique specials to check out! We loved the Egg Cream Vietnamese Coffee - it’s incredibly velvety and topped with a lady finger cookie. (And we were buzzing the rest of the day from the caffeine kick!) We also tried the Matcha Affogato, Shrimp Toast, Ube Cheesecake, the pumpkin muffin, and several of the Croffle flavors, and loved them all! The desserts are not too sweet, everything was creamy, delicious and well-balanced.

Their drink menu is huge as well - they have sparkling teas, matcha, coffee, and juices available. We loved the Strawberry Matcha and the “Meet Me at Sunset” juice. 🍓🌅 Be sure to stop by and save this post for your next coffee date!

If you’re looking for a true taste of Venezuela right here in Tulsa, you must visit @elarepasotulsa 🇻🇪✨

We joined Chef/Owner Carolina for lunch and her hospitality is just as warm as their delicious food. We’re still thinking about that Patacón—a fried plantain sandwich loaded with shredded beef, ham, cheese, and pink sauce.

Other must-tries: Arepas & Empanadas: Super flavorful and paired perfectly with their house-made Guasacaca (we literally bought some to-go). Pabellón Criollo: An authentic Venezuelan platter with shredded beef, sweet plantains, black beans & rice. Cachapa: A sweet corn pancake with cheese and cream (add the shredded beef!) Fresh Juices: Don’t sleep on the Soursop (Guanábana)—it’s tropical, creamy, and unlike anything we’ve had before but we also loved their guava, passionfruit and sugar cane juices as well.

Carolina has been cooking up some magic over there, stop by and show them some love! #tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #foodphotography #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsafoodies #tulsaok #tulsa #venezuelanfood #venezuelanfoodtulsa taken in El Arepaso Venezuelan Cafe by @tulsafood

Lassale’s New Orleans Deli was one of those magical spots that we’ve missed ever since they closed back in 2021. There wasn’t a week that went by that we didn’t stop by for a Po’ Boy, Mufaletta, Gumbo or some Red Beans & Rice. But for those in the know—you can still order up your favorite @lassalles_market_and_farm items (and more) over at @pumpbartulsa!! Chris West is GM at The Pump and has been adding much of his original menu to their current offerings and everything tasted just as we remembered. The Pump has an awesome setup for both indoor and outdoor hangs, a full bar with a variety of craft cocktails and beers, and of course, a ton of great food to be had. If you’re like us and have been missing your Lasalles fix lately, this is your sign to go grab a bite at The Pump next time you’ve got the hankering! #tulsaok #tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsafoodies #thepumptulsa #neworleansfood #poboys #tulsa by @tulsafood

We finally checked out @bricesbakery and loved it!! The owners, husband and wife team, Sean and Olivia owned a successful bake shop in Port Elizabeth, South Africa for many years before moving to Tulsa and opening last year. Sean has been baking since he was a little kid, starting with marshmallows that you can still purchase from the shop to this day.

They offer a variety of delicious baked goods— all made in house, from bagels to buttery croissants, a variety of tarts made with almond flour in a variety of flavors (check out the milk tart!) plus specialty items like strawberry custard cruffins, ubuntu bars and more. Their “Golden Slice”, custard filled, gooey cinnamon in every bite, perfectly crispy on the outside croissant covered in icing and gold flake was Evan’s favorite sweet of the year. They also brew their own coffee and drinks, and have awesome to-go bottling options as well. Definitely don’t miss the “Red Matcha” which is a rooibos tea ‘matcha’ drink that paired perfectly with the sweets.

The Brice’s are some of the warmest people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting, and we could quickly tell after spending a bit of time in the coffee shop, that it’s the type of place where regulars are greeted by name and have all come to regard eachother as friends. Sean shared with us that they’ll be expanding into the next door space in 2026, and will be bringing even more baked goods including bagels by the dozen and a variety of fresh baked breads and more to the menu, so be sure and keep an eye on these guys. They have two locations, though they bake out of their primary location at 89th and Memorial, you can still grab a selection of their treats and drinks at their Cherry Street location. We hope you’ll stop by and check them out!#tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #foodphotography #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsacoffee #tulsabakery #southafricanbakery #tulsafoodies #tulsa #tulsaok taken in Brice’s Coffee and Bake House by @tulsafood

Anyone who knows us well will tell you we are always on the hunt for good quality dim sum in Tulsa. Our favorite spot for many years, Guang Zhou, closed around the time of COVID and ever since we’ve had very few great substitutes, but recently, the family behind that concept has opened a new Chinese restaurant called @hiyachili. The restaurant is located in the old Fuji South location and I am thrilled to report they are again serving traditional dim sum on carts! We go pretty much every weekend and can say that it’s fresh, authentic, and delicious! For those who haven’t been before, Dim Sum is basically Chinese brunch, consisting of small, bite-sized dishes, often dumplings and steamed items, that are meant to be shared. Everything is rolled out on different carts as it’s made, so you can easily pick and choose what you like.

We can’t recommend them enough and hope you’ll come out and support Hiya Chili so that we can all enjoy dim sum for many years to come! :) they serve dim sum on the weekends 10:30-3pm #tulsafood #eatlocaltulsa #foodphotography #tulsafoodscene #tulsafoodie #tulsafoodies #tulsaok #dimsum #tulsadimsum #localfoodtulsa #supportlocalfood taken in Hiya Chili by @tulsafood

A new concept, @afrikandelights , has arrived at @motherroadmarket!! Owners Fifi and Yannick, @kitchen66tulsa alumni, just opened their doors in July, and have been bringing incredible African flavors to Tulsa ever since. We had the pleasure of sampling their menu recently and wanted to share. You’ll find authentic dishes including egusi fufu, peanut soup, sukuma wiki (an African dish made with collard greens), jollof rice and more. Fufu is a dense, smooth, pliable dough-like food that is traditionally used in lieu of utensils and was perfect (and fun) to eat the egusi with. We also tried their wings with ALL the amazing sauces, a refreshing Malta Guiness— a popular drink in Africa, as well as hibiscus and passion fruit juices. We finished it all up with a creamy tapioca pudding and their sweet puff puffs; we got their sweet strawberry puff puffs but they come in so many different flavors. The owners are both so kind and accommodating and are excited to walk you through their food and culture, which really made the whole experience wonderful. Everything was delicious and authentic and we had a blast.

(Giveaway Closed) Want to experience these incredible dishes for yourself? Good news: we’ve got a $66 gift card giveaway for you...

@acaidelightok is a Brazilian fast casual concept created by Emelizia Sierra and her husband serving up a variety of acai bowls 🍓They also have smoothies, milkshakes and treats like their mini pancake trays, made to order waffles, and coxinha—a popular Brazilian street food consisting of shredded chicken meat mixed with a creamy cheese inside a fried dough.

We loved everything we tried - the acai bowl was delicious and honestly could have one any time for a meal (or a healthy dessert depending on how you customize yours). The smoothies and shakes were fresh and tasty, and there’s a ton of options across the board so that there’s something for everyone. The treats were also very yummy, the mini pancakes were mixed with fruit and topped with Nutella and the coxinha are a snack we would happily enjoy any time of day. Emelizia was so friendly and accommodating and really passionate about her craft, she’s happy to walk you through the menus and options and share a bit about her culture with lots of recommendations. We will definitely be back!
