Together, we can make a difference! Thank you so much to @tulsakwc for partnering with us to help a grandmother raising her grandchildren. We were grateful to be able to provide furniture for their home and help meet a practical need for their family! 🙌🫶 by @tulsakwc

In April 2024 the Lord spoke to my heart about planting a church through the words of John 21. Following the death and resurrection of Jesus the disciples were unsure what to do next so they went back to what they knew - they went fishing. Except they didn’t catch anything. They seemed to be fishing out of the wrong side of the boat. Jesus shows up and calls out to try where they hadn’t tried before. John says, “It’s the Lord!” And Peter declares if it’s the Lord then he’s all in with this plan and jumps in the water.

I wanted to be like Peter and jump in but went for months trying to find anyone who would act as the disciple John and confirm to me that this was the Lord. The Lord was gracious to me and confirmed His plans in big and small ways.

The first one being through the silliest of ways - in John 21 they catch 153 fish. So I put that number into Apple Maps and the address led me to Kendall Whittier.

Today my incredible friend and our artist in residence, @kelykingsleyart painted that story as “stained glass” onto our window in our church sanctuary space. A constant reminder that we’re fishing in the right spot and there’s so many fish that need to be brought to Jesus.

On the other window is the cup, the bread, and the cross. Reminders of grace. A daily invitation to come to the table - because we’re all welcomed there. If we can sit side by side at the table of the Lord then there’s no other table where we shouldn’t all sit together as neighbors, as fellow sinners in need of a Savior, as brothers and sisters in Christ. As we say each Sunday, “This is the table of the Lord not the table of the church.”

Thank you, Kely, for these beautiful pieces that hold so much meaning and such a powerful commission and invitation. I’m so grateful.

What an honor to pastor Kendall Whittier Church. by @tulsakwc

We love partnering with Kendall Whittier Elementary School!! Our KW Church volunteers worked all day to set up and organize a student resource room in preparation for the coming school year. Throughout the year we’ll be at the school to restock and keep it supplied. We’re praying for all our KWE teachers and staff as they report back tomorrow. It’s gonna be a great year and we’re excited for all we get to do together! by @tulsakwc
