My first-ever naturally poured latte art heart ❤️☕ .. all by myself
If you’ve been following my page for a while, you already know I’m a coffee person—and I take my coffee art pretty seriously.
Back in 2019, I was so inspired by my local baristas that I bought myself a milk pouring jug and a frother, convinced I was about to master latte art through my relaxed weekend coffee time. Well… that didn’t quite happen. Instead, later through pandemic in 2020 I wandered into a completely different creative lane: drawing and writing on coffee foam. And honestly…I still love doing it to this day.
Last month, I attended a latte art workshop, and it was absolutely fantastic. From understanding the science behind a great brew to getting hands-on experience with top-of-the-line espresso machines, it was an eye-opening experience.
I don’t own a fancy espresso machine (yet!), but stumbling upon @brewingwithshivam content made me realize that latte art isn’t reserved for café setups alone. Over the last few days, I’ve been experimenting with a simple milk frother and trying to recreate those effortless pours that baristas make look so effortless, seamless pours that somehow turn into beautiful designs
Turns out, there’s a reason it’s called latte art. Getting the milk texture right, controlling the pour, and coaxing even the simplest pattern onto a cup takes far more skill than it seems.

And today, after all these years of playing with milk form on my coffee , I finally poured my very first latte heart all by myself . Not drawn. Not etched. Actually poured. ❤️
It may not be perfect, but it feels like a milestone in my coffee journey—and I’m ridiculously happy about it.

Mango lassi… the quintessential summer drink.
Last June, my big sister was visiting London for a couple of days after attending a seminar in Prague. One of her colleagues from Mumbai, who had also attended the event, surprised her with half a dozen Indian mangoes.
And yes, my sister saved one especially for me.
That mango had quite a journey—traveling from Mumbai to Prague, then on to London, before finally making its way to our home in West Sussex. A truly well-travelled mango!
More than week later from it’s start .. it was transformed into a delicious mango lassi. It tasted even sweeter because it carried not only the kindness of my sister’s colleague, but also my sister’s thoughtfulness in carefully saving one for me all that time. Every sip felt like a little reminder of the love that had travelled along with it. 🥭💛

A little late, but full of heart—Poila Boishakh lunch in Bangalore.
Between mocha chop , bhekti fish fry, Kosha mangsho - luchi , echor er Kalia, chanar Kalia , bhaat, hustle bustle of the restaurant Kolkata dint feel so far this noon.
This place doesn’t take reservations over the weekend.. we had to wait almost an hour but was worth it.
