POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It's been a little quiet around here lately. I've taken a bit of a break from social media, but I've still been pottering around my studio, making little things, shipping orders and enjoying the process.

I'm happy to be back, although I'm not quite sure how often I'll be posting just yet.

For now, here's a little glimpse of what I've been working on. 📚🤎

Four years ago, I ordered a set of miniature books and was honestly so disappointed with the print quality.

Because what’s the fun of a miniature bookshelf if you can’t actually tell which books are on it? 📚

That experience completely changed the way I make my mini books.

I don’t simply find a cover online, shrink it down and print it. I use the original cover as a starting point and recreate or edit the artwork for miniature scale, moving text, cleaning up details and making sure those tiny spines are as clear and readable as possible.

It takes a lot longer.

But when all those little books are lined up on a miniature bookshelf and you can actually recognise the titles?

Worth it. ❤️

My 6-year-old decided to be Charlie for Roald Dahl Week at school. 🍫✨

Of course, we couldn’t send Charlie off without his very own Golden Ticket! 💛

A little bit of Wonka magic, made especially for him. 🎟️✨

A little bookshelf decor for the readers who know a Freida book is never just one more chapter. 👀📚

Which Freida book had you hooked the fastest?

I started this little project to preserve my son’s first handwritten notes. I never expected you to trust me with yours. 🥹

Love letters. Notes from parents. Handwriting from grandparents. Little pieces of people you love, and moments you never want to forget.

This one was an early “I love you” from her now-husband, turned into a little magnet for her office. ❤️

I think I’m going to love making these.

One bookmark was never going to be enough. 😂📚

For when “I’ll just read one more chapter” turns into waking up with a book on your face.

The Fell Asleep Here bookmark, now in all the colours because obviously your bookmark needs to match the book. 💕💙💜

Which colour are you picking?

Preserving words that matter. 🤍

My son has recently started writing me little notes, and I wanted a way to keep them somewhere I could see them every day.

There’s something so special about handwriting. The wonky letters, the spelling, the little hearts and tiny imperfections that belong to that person at that particular moment in time.

So I turned his notes into little magnets, exactly as he wrote them.

I know his handwriting will change as he grows, but I’ll always have these little pieces of six-year-old him.

The first of many, I think. 🤍

I took a few days off to see this beauty. She's the lady who helped raise me. My mother's mother. ❤️

She studied till the 5th grade before she was married off at 11 and had her first child at 13.

She raised 6 children in the most difficult of situations, while barely a child herself, and left everything she knew to follow her husband to another country, with him barely a teenager himself.

Through it all, she never stopped reading.

She taught me about politics, the UN, the economy, literature, life, relationships, character. So much of what she knew, she learnt through reading.

When I was growing up, she always had a newspaper, magazine or book nearby. She read or she wrote. I have half a dozen of her poetry journals now and they are some of my greatest treasures.

She was always reminding me that there's no excuse not to know something. It's only a read away.

She doesn't read anymore, and things are different now. But in short bursts there is clarity and her intelligence just radiates through. I wonder what goes through that beautiful mind of hers now and where her thoughts take her. ❤️ by @tuneemanee.stories
