So thankful to Mr. Riley for always being a mentor that gave me opportunities that pushes me to my limit. And for trusting me to deliver an amazing show with him at Snug Harbor. Thank you Mr. Riley!

Herlin Riley gave me a very interesting assignment! He asked me to start taking the accented phrases of drummers and begin using those rhythms to create Melodic lines! Obviously what I posted isn’t the greatest transfer from drums to melody but it’s a start! Hope to keep doing this and improving in the future!

I love cannonball adderley! I transcribe much less now. I’m just working on so many neglected fundamentals. But all will come with time! Enjoy!

As Dexter Gordon once said “There comes a time in every tenor saxophonist’s life when he must play his rendition of ‘Body and Soul’.” And this is Coleman Hawkins’ rendition.
