If I had to sum my program’s festival and performance schedule this year, I would say it’s been a wild, crazy and productive ride. Here’s out it started, where it went, and how it finished:

3/4/26- Junior and Symphonic Bands at SCSBOA Festival at Sierra Vista HS- Excellent Ratings for both bands.

3/6/26- Jazz Band A to Walter Reed MS Jazz Festival- Excellent Rating

3/11/26- Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble at the SCSBOA Festival Santa Ana HS- Excellent Ratings for both bands.

3/21/26- Jazz Bands A & B to the Newbury Park Jazz Festival- Excellent ratings for both bands.

3/25/26- Wind Ensemble and Junior Band close out the SCSBOA season at El Dorado HS- Excellent ratings for both bands.

4/9/26- Spring Concert #1, all bands did really well.

4/10/26- Spring Concert #2, Same result as above.

4/11/26- Jazz Bands A & B to Riffin in Reseda Jazz Festival- Excellent ratings given to both bands.

4/22/26- Jazz Bands A & B perform at our annual Jazz Night Fundraiser with special guest, Fernando Harkless.

5/9/26- Jazz Band A perform at the Westlake HS Jazz Festival- The band earns first place in their “novice” division.

5/16/26- Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band A perform at the World Strides Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim CA. Both bands earned Gold ratings for their respective performances; which is the highest rating you can receive at a 4World Strides festival.

5/20/26- Mini Pops Concert performance on campus featuring the kids in elementary and middle school.

5/21/26- Pops Concert performance featuring the high bands.

This wasn’t just school band performance, this was a tour.

Oft times it’s not how you start but how you finish!

Thanks to all of our adjudicators this year for your knowledgeable input, thanks to Dan Taguchi “The Commissioner of Jazz,” for his coaching this year, and thanks to Anthony Allmond for coming out to clinic us before our World Strides festival. As previously said, “wild, crazy, productive. Gold ain’t too shabby! by @turner8795
