january in Rio and my return to South America after 19 years! for some reason before the trip i really had a block towards going, telling myself it wasn’t something i wanted to do. my stop over was in santiago - my place of birth and where i called home for so long, the place i’ve lived the longest. but as we started our descent over the Andes i had a sudden rush - both emotional and physical. a return!

then onto Rio, meeting my beautiful and inspiring creative team that bring my visions for Flook to life. the energy of the city, the people, the food. the colours and the sounds! in the end the trip was exactly what I needed. reconnecting with a part of me that i don’t nurture normally.

and now i cant wait to get back to that part of the world. to visit chile properly, to see more of the beautiful and diverse continent 🫶🏻 taken in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro by @turnergoldsack

our most precious Reo 🕊️ you left our lives almost as quickly as you came into them. @chefjethrovincent and I agreed we’d get our third dog once we had a bigger yard and they’d be small, a lap dog let’s say. so obviously that meant we got our biggest dog well before we moved house.

my Reo, a fluffy, giant bundle of love and joy. You never realized quite how big you were, you’d flop and bounce and always joined in on any and every cuddle. you filled our home with laughter and love, taught my ziggy how to play, taught milo how to share his toys. you were chaos and calm, grounding and lifting. you were by my side day and night, my shadow, my boy. a girl and her boy dog, an unbreakable bond. thank you for choosing us, thank you for loving us. losing you has broken my heart but what is grief if not love persevering? I love you my Reo.

and to my human friends, especially in Bali, please slow down. these roads aren’t meant for speed. by @turnergoldsack

the last twelve months have taught me more than I could have ever expected. I’ve met so many new people, travelled to new countries, laughed a lot, cried a little (a lot), eaten an insane amount of food, drank too much coffee and wine. What I haven’t done though is prioritise my health (physical and mental) or my friendships. My knees hurt and I miss my friends! Time to start dropping it low with my besties again 🌸 by @turnergoldsack
