Some songs are written in a moment. Others take years to reveal what they’re trying to say.

With the release of “vincent vol.1”, Annabelle Barnes introduces @calleditvincent — a project shaped by seasons of change, grief, growth, and becoming. What began as a way to process letting go gradually became something much larger: a reflection on identity, memory, and the people, places, and versions of ourselves we leave behind.

Written over four years and carried through countless iterations, “vincent vol.1” sits at the heart of the project. It captures the ache of growing up, the weight of nostalgia, and the quiet acceptance that comes with learning to live alongside change.

Accompanying the release is a deeply personal music video filmed in a childhood park that remains almost untouched by time. Featuring choreography by longtime friend and collaborator Katie Shawsmith, the visual marks a return to dance — Barnes’ first creative language — and offers a tender exploration of memory, grief, and self.

More than a debut single, “vincent vol.1” is the opening chapter of a project grounded in honesty, vulnerability, and reinvention. An invitation into the world of Vincent, and into the complexities of becoming.

Vincent celebrates the release with an official single launch at @seasonthreespace on June 5.

Brisbane indie rock outfit @spaceandages return with the announcement of their debut EP Human Nature, arriving July 8, alongside its first single “Anything (is it obvious)” — an anthemic, hook-laden release that pairs bright indie rock momentum with themes of burnout, self-doubt and the growing pains of early adulthood.

Driven by chugging guitars and restless energy, the track captures the contradiction at the centre of Human Nature: the tension between outward movement and internal uncertainty. While the instrumentation surges forward, the lyrics unpack the quieter realities of comparison, identity and the pressure to have everything figured out.

Across seven tracks, Human Nature leans into the messiness of change — tracing shifting friendships, lingering habits and the ongoing process of becoming. Rather than offering polished resolutions, SPACE&AGES embrace honesty, creating a debut that feels both immediate and emotionally resonant.

With “Anything (is it obvious)”, SPACE&AGES deliver a compelling first glimpse into a project shaped by contradiction, vulnerability and the complexities of human nature.

turnr talks @thetriffid 🗞️

Housed within the curved steel of a restored WWII aircraft hangar, The Triffid isn’t just a venue — it’s a masterclass in atmospheric architecture. Since opening its doors in 2014, it has redefined the Brisbane live music standard, blending gritty heritage with polished, world-class production.

Founded by Powderfinger’s John Collins, the space carries an “artist-first” DNA that translates into a seamless experience for the crowd. From the cavernous acoustics of the main room to the sun-soaked, urban oasis of its legendary beer garden, every corner feels intentional.

It is refined yet raw, a cornerstone of our cultural landscape that remains effortlessly inviting. In a city that lives for live music, The Triffid continues to set the tempo.

@saiegram is setting a new benchmark for Brisbane’s next wave — evolving from one of the city’s most trusted DJs into a fully realised, multidimensional artist.

Long respected for his taste, control, and ability to move a room, he now channels that same precision into original work that feels intentional, immersive, and globally resonant. Blending classic R&B and soul with South Asian textures, saie isn’t just experimenting — he’s carving out a distinct sonic identity that stands apart in a crowded landscape.

With his latest single “undecided,” saie moves beyond transition into something more assured. Smoothly crafted and emotionally charged, the track underscores a refined sound and points to an artist built for the long run.

Brisbane has always known his ear — now it’s witnessing his voice.

@annabelle_music_ marks her arrival with Back to You, an expansive debut that sits at the intersection of cinematic grandeur and alt-pop vulnerability. It is a sprawling anthem dedicated to the “situationship” that refuses to stay dead — capturing the precise, bruising moment where better judgment loses the fight to muscle memory.

With soaring vocals and textures that feel as infinite as they do intimate, Back to You is more than a single; it’s an introduction to a world where the cycle of letting go is never quite finished.

Women have shaped music from its earliest forms, yet too often their contributions are overlooked, underestimated, or pushed to the sidelines.

From navigating systemic barriers in the studio, on stage, and within industry leadership, to challenging the persistent biases that determine who gets visibility and opportunity, female musicians continually face hurdles that talent alone cannot overcome. And yet, they persist — innovating, leading, and redefining the sounds and stories that shape our culture.

At turnr, we recognise the vital role women play in shaping music’s present and future. Supporting, amplifying, and creating space for female voices isn’t optional — it’s essential for an industry that aims to be vibrant, equitable, and creative.

Today, we celebrate women whose voices — whether sung, spoken, or felt — create impact.

Feature Card: @coolthekid_offical 📇

A new chapter begins for coolthekid.

Formerly known as Zeek Power, the Brisbane artist returns with a renewed sense of self and artistic direction. After stepping back to reflect, experiment, and rediscover his voice, he emerges with a sound that feels both deliberate and deeply personal — a true reflection of who he is now as an artist.

Drawing from alternative R&B, indie pop, and cinematic production, coolthekid crafts music that inhabits the space between introspection and atmosphere. His songs feel like intimate, late-night conversations — layered, vulnerable, and unfiltered — where emotion and sonic texture meet seamlessly.

His latest single, “sicka,” embodies this evolution. Written during a period of self-reflection, the track channels the uncertainty, growth, and emotional clarity that shaped his creative rebirth. Every note, lyric, and beat reveals a side of him that is raw, honest, and unguarded, offering listeners a glimpse into the mindset behind this transformative chapter.

For coolthekid, this isn’t just a single.
It’s a declaration of identity, a reinvention, and the first step in a bold, new era.

@charlibsims is putting Brisbane’s RnB Pop scene on notice — not by asking for attention, but by commanding it. There’s something electric about the way she moves through a track. Her voice doesn’t just sit on a beat; it dances with it. One moment she’s drawing you inward, close enough to hear every breath between the lines. The next, she’s urging you out of your head and onto the floor, surrendering to the rhythm without hesitation.

Her latest release captures the rush of “good company” — the kind that feels effortless and a little dangerous in the best way. It’s the spark in a lingering glance, the heat of a room that suddenly feels smaller. Playful but intentional, it builds that delicious tension where you know it won’t last forever… which only makes you lean in harder.

charles doesn’t simply drop songs into the world. She builds spaces you can step inside — immersive, charged, alive. There’s confidence in her delivery, but it’s never hollow; it’s rooted in feeling. With this release, she isn’t just introducing herself. She’s shifting the air in the room — and once you’ve felt it, you don’t forget it.

@chelsearcostar steps into 2026 with her heart wide open.

Her new single, maybe, just maybe, isn’t about certainty — it’s about courage. The kind it takes to love again when you know exactly what it can cost. With shimmering guitar lines and harmonies that bloom and recede like breath, Chelsea builds a world that feels nostalgic without ever looking backwards.

Equal parts softness and strength, the track marks the beginning of a bold new chapter — one driven by instinct, vulnerability and big, starry ambition.
