“ Dj Sammy 🇬🇭🇬🇧 A turntable princess. “

Meet @samantha.ursula @itsdjsammy_ Our newest turntable princess !!

DJ Sammy, born Samantha Ursula is a London-based DJ and sonic storyteller whose journey behind the decks began in 2023 — but whose love affair with music started long before that. A lifelong musician who grew up playing piano, guitar, bass, and ukulele, Samantha always had a deep connection to rhythm, sound, and the emotional power of music. Though she once tried singing (and humbly admits it wasn’t her strongest suit), she found her true creative voice through DJing.

“ A turntable princess 👑🇬🇭🇬🇧.”

@dj.dandans DJ Dan Dans (Danielle Welbeck) is a DJ born and bred in South East London to two Ghanaian parents. She is a self-taught DJ who has been in the game for 5 years. DJ Dan Dans cut her teeth in the Oxford University scene in the early days of her career playing at a host of events from college balls to club nights and parties. It was here that she honed her skills in performance and crowd control, which sets her apart from other DJs to this day. But, DJing only forms one part of her musicianship.

Danielle is a multi-instrumentalist who plays and teaches piano, arranges for choirs, and plays percussion (steel pan). She also has a First Class degree in Music from the University of Oxford and currently has a scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Music from the University of Cambridge. Her research interests include local and global musical geographies, blackness, diaspora, religion, and music text and forms of meaning, all of which deeply inform her DJing, as she prides herself on playing sets that recognise that DJing is curation.

Danielle writes about music for several publications and is co-editor, creative director and events lead for Accra-based independent print magazine Pure Wata Zine. She also does communications and copywriting for a British-based Black business.

“ A turntable princess 👑🇯🇲🇨🇦.”

@thebabyjamaica Meet Baby Jamaica, a young, vibrant Canadian-Jamaican DJ who hails from Toronto, Canada. She has journeyed to Accra, Ghana, to carve out a niche in the thriving local DJ scene. What began as a December trip to explore her ancestral roots quickly blossomed into a deep love for Ghana and its rich musical landscape.

Baby Jamaica first started spinning decks during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021, seeking an expressive hobby to channel her creativity. This initial pastime rapidly evolved into a passionate career pursuit.

With a diverse musical palette that spans dancehall, afrobeats, amapiano, hip hop and R&B, Baby Jamaica brings a unique sound to every set she performs. Her seamless blending of genres and her ability to read and cater to a crowd have quickly made her an exciting up and coming DJ in Accra’s vibrant nightlife.

Baby Jamaica is not just a DJ but a cultural bridge, infusing her sets with the rhythmic pulses of her Jamaican heritage and the dynamic beats of her new Ghanaian home. With her undeniable talent, charm and infectious energy, Baby Jamaica is poised to leave a mark on the Ghanaian DJ scene.

“ A turntable princess….introducing @eno.aaa .”

ENO-ONE, born Eno Acheampong in 2007, is a British-Ghanaian-based potential international DJ. Her story behind the jog wheels started in the month of May 2023, when a classmate introduced her to Virtual DJ and captivated her desire for the years to come. But her music journey started before that when she was as little as 7; she was taking piano lessons and performing in church. This grew to her learning music as a subject in forms 4 and 5, which equipped her with a good learning ear.

Eno was always someone who would chase after enjoyment, from her first night clubbing at Kruna to her worst night at Laboma. Music is something she saw as more than a vibe but an essential club controller. So she became determined to succeed, though she had not yet known what for.

From watching tutorials from Crossfader, Boiler Room, snippets on TikTok, and Culture FM, she understood the elements of creating an experience. Inspired by Uncle Waffles’ energy, DBN Gogos’ whole set, and DJames’ mashups, she became entranced and yearned to get better.

She had her next awakening when a friend who was also a DJ invited her to his set at
Imullar, and she heard more wonderful genres and had a deeper understanding of the DJ-music-crowd relationship and how to start and introduce it. Propelling her to make her first-ever live set for a clothing line at Jambo Spaces in the summer of 2024. She just played Afrobeats and Amapiano, not yet her complete version.

In December of 2024, she had her first challenge playing RNB, a genre she does not regularly listen to. She learned how to play R&B, adding it to the genres under her belt. She later learned Gqom, Afropiano, Afro House, private school Amapiano, and hip-hop. Enos’ sound is rooted in blending her culture with new experiences.

Eno is more than a DJ; she is an experience coordinator. Her hunger for more will lead her to the finish line. by @turntableprincessmgmt
