Ok, ok, I’m not a dog park fan in general. A statistically bad gamble overall with dog attacks and disease I’ve had a fair share of scares and use these places as a last resort but off leash parks are a different story. Owners still need to be hyper aware of their pups interactions and any aggressive dogs in the immediate area but with acres of open space it’s a dog’s dream. We love Cherry Creak Off-Leash Dog Park but we start clear after summer temps hit a certain temp due to the algae that is deadly (I’m talking hours until expiration peeps). So do your homework - most places will have warnings on their websites after a incidents or algae presence is confirmed. All that to say this is turtles crack cocaine of activities. Booked Turts an Dock Doving intro sesh. @jaspers_splash_zone - big learning curve for all of us. Turtle obv. killed it after adjusting to her first time in clear/pool water and jumping off a raised platform. @otisweekly was clutch with his frisbee skillset, not my strongest skillset… she took to it like a turtle in water. Ha. She passed with flying colors - “potential is there”, they said. Not surprised with my athletic DNA she got from me. Also Ha.

@jaspers_splash_zone - legit. Great facility and instruction, highly reccommed. Check em out, they have so many other courses and sport training. We’ll be back as soon as we can 🦴 taken in Jasper's Splash Zone by @turtles_tales

🐾 CRAG DOG STATUS: UNLOCKED

Just leveled up at Lake City Ice Park. Your girl is now officially a crag dog, and honestly? It was about time.
Lake City in winter hits different. We’re talking frozen waterfalls, ice climbing routes that look impossible, and the kind of cold that makes your nose hurt in the best way.

Mom’s been wanting to try ice climbing forever and when her job @thenorthface organized a trip, Dad and I naturally I tagged along as expedition support.

The setup is wild. These very well dressed humans literally climb up frozen water with metal spikes and axes. Meanwhile, I’m down here providing essential services like barking encouragement and keeping the gear warm with strategic napping.

Learned some crag etiquette real quick. Stay clear of the fall zones (obvious), don’t chase the falling ice chunks (harder than you’d think), and always maintain visual on your human’s progress (they need the moral support).

The climbing community up there? Solid dog people. Everyone’s got snacks, everyone’s watching out for each other, and most importantly, everyone stopped to give me attention between routes.

Pro crag dog moves I perfected: strategic positioning for maximum sun exposure, identifying the best snow for emergency water breaks, and mastering the art of looking concerned when Dad gets stuck on a tricky section.

Lake City treated us right. Small mountain town energy, zero crowds, and the kind of adventure that makes regular dog park visits feel amateur.
Ready for more ice season. This whole winter climbing thing might be my new obsession.

Hill is for the Dogs. Well Winter Park sure is at least.

That last post with all the kewl artsy Tito’s Dad took of the Dog Friendly, A-Frame Hotel? We were at Winter Park Resort (also Dog Friendly) to hit the slopes with the rents. Because what’s a better ski season day on the slopes but throw in your best fur friend?!? Game changer. Woof. Noted some winter in-season info below if you’re game for the 25/26 Season.

Oh and my legit Winter Park Pet Pass? It’s basically a VIP badge for dogs who know what’s up. If you want you can get your humans to get you one too. All it takes is a donation to Grand County Pet Pals and sending your best shot to seasonpass@winterparkresort.com. Worth it just for the flex.

O.K let’s talk Access. Gondola is Dog-friendly. The chair lifts? Hard no. Don’t even try it. If your human wants early mountain vibes, uphill access runs 4-7am and 5-8pm. You’ll need reflective gear, which honestly just makes your trail pics pop anyway.

Morning uphill at Mary Jane base is where the real dogs hang. Zero crowds, fresh snow, and that sunrise hits different when you’re the only ones breaking trail.

Trail politics: stick to hiking paths, stay leashed (or at least pretend when patrol comes around), and for the love of treats, make sure your human picks up after you. Nothing ruins the mountain dog reputation faster than lazy humans.

One last insider tip: Sunspot deck is officially off-limits (health codes or whatever), but the turf out front is fair game for lounging while your humans sip overpriced drinks.

Giving Alpine @aframeclub
Me and big bro Clyde crashed V-Day weekend at Winter Park. Solid choice.
Snagged reservations the dog friendly A-Frame Club. Place knows how to treat a dog right.
Right next to Winter Park base we got in on some Apres Ski time. Rents made me wear these boot things. Weird flex but surprisingly not terrible.

Winter Park is dog friendly so after getting my official park pass we hit up the pre slope time for four leggers. That morning powder hits different.
Raced the fam down the mountain:
• Smoked Mom (obviously)
• Tied with Dad (he’s still bragging)
• Clyde actually kept up (Valentine’s miracle)
Scored some heart-shaped bacon. Best part of this whole love holiday situation.
This mountain dog life? I could get used to it.

Overshare: Moms on the “Lyme disease” struggle bus and she’s been having a rough go. Thank gawd for the pooch vaccine - bc; no thank you. Am I right?!? And well I don’t have thumbs so she’s my cable to the VR.

First review (Grays and Torreys Peak in Arapaho National Forest)

Just knocked out my second fourteener with big bro Clyde (guess I’m a pro now). We tackled the legendary Grays Peak and let me tell you - this pup was giving.

📍 Trail: Grays Peak (14,278 ft!)
🏃‍♀️ Distance: 8.1 miles (my fitbark is on fire!)
⏰ Time: 6 whole hours of mountain zoomies! Note: My Uncle joined our hike to give me more belly scratches, and he’s sporting a little Dad Bod. Granted, it was his first 14er EVER - aka, we had to take it slow with a lot of breathing breaks - definitely could have done it faster going solo. But still glad he came out and knocked this one out with us.
💦 Water Spots: Found 2 mountain streams for natural water breaks!

Bone Rating: 🦴🦴🦴 out of 🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴 (tough, rocky trail terrain, and packed with humans... but totally worth it!)
🎒 What the parents packed for me:
+ 1 gallon water bag (stayed hydrated like a good girl!)
+ Collapsable bowl for water licks
+ Poop bags (Leave No Trace, am I right? 💩)
+ Slim Jims & cheese sticks (Mom knows the way to my heart 🧀)
+ My Ruffware harness and carabiner leash (matching of course - were in fashion duh).

Y’all, I might’ve accidentally pulled Dad off-trail twice chasing some mountain squirrels (they were asking for it!), but check out these views! Who’s a good mountain climber? THIS GIRL! 🐕
Pro tip from your favorite adventure pup: Start early because those afternoon thunderstorms are no joke! Also, your humans might get a little cranky about the whole leash thing, but rules are rules! 🦮

This is some pumpkin spice latte bull. Annual fall photo shoot time and someone got outfit inspired… and welp… here we are. My big bros Clyde (channeling some Portland skate park groupie) and Finn (at least I didn’t get the Midwest mom out on the town for Bunco night). At least the keepers seemed very excited about it. Whatevs we got treats.
