2025: Do. I’m not a typical New Year’s Resolution guy, or a New Year’s Intention guy. Resolution implies something bedrock. I don’t like to set myself up for failure. New Year’s Eve, I was up at 4 am, on a plane. I arrived to my friend’s house with: “I am just throwing it out there. Let’s not do anything tonight.” I was hoping to stay in. Maybe some Thai. Maybe w/ a little Masterpiece Theater around 10 p.m. :)My friend was adamant we go out. That we go to a friend’s. And, that I wear my short shorts that she forced me to buy. I was not game. I digress, as I do. We arrive. It was a cool vibe. But, the shorts … were too short. The attire was Miami chic. A friend snapped a pic. (Pic 1)As I danced, still thinking my shorts were too short, I noted the classiest looking couple at the party. I mean, like the Gatsby’s, out of a telenovela. About 45 minutes later, I met the male half of that couple at the picnic tables, by the food trucks, by the yacht. It was a scene. For perspective, growing up, we had a cottage on a Lake. The cottage was a single wide trailer, and our boat was a barely seaworthy vessel. It was a paddle boat on a no-wake lake in nowhere southwest Michigan. So, the NYE scene did not remind me of my childhood. The snappy man said he liked my style, and that I had good moves. He noticed me on the dance floor when I noticed him. I was flattered. And fawned over he and his wife. Mutual fawning is nice.And I was likeWAIT. A.MINUTE. “Hey, aren’t you … ahhh … part of the Sound Machine,” I said. Then I quickly self corrected. “Wait … … you *are* the f****** Sound Machine!”The handsome man laughed. Hard. We became fast friends. He and his wife could not have been any more kind. More humble. More real. More welcoming. More affectionate. Who would have thought? The neighbors of the NYE party house. I’m so glad I did it. I went. Do is my new air. I am going to DO in 2025. F*** cancer. I don’t say that on here. But F*** it, F*** cancer. My dear friend, and one of the best storytellers in America, got a helluva diagnosis - Colorectal Cancer. We’re gonna fight like hell for him, because we love Mike. Everyone loves Mike. Please send @mikelowereports some love. ❤️ by @tvbrad
