I am so proud to rock my #NaturalHairOnAir!I shared this story earlier this week on @threads: Sunday, I bumped into a lovely couple at the market here in Cleveland and the man pointed at my ‘fro and said “you’re that newscaster who told us about The Crown Act.” I wish I could describe how much pride I felt when he said that🥹.Today, July 3, is National #CrownDay. CROWN stands for Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair. In 2019, California became the first state to pass the #CrownAct banning hair discrimination in workplaces and schools. The Crown Act is now law in 30 states but not yet Ohio. Lawmakers have re-introduced the legislation four times in the last several years and it is currently sitting in committee. There is still so much work to be done. Let’s work together to #PassTheCrown👑 by @tvnewslady

Some loser stole my package while I was in New York City last week accepting my Gracie award.In that package was this beautiful custom-made gown from my seamstress and designer @zizibespoke. We collaborated on all of the details and I am heartbroken💔. Per usual, @ziziejiga sewed 🧵 a showstopper.Sadly, this is the 💛gown I was going to wear this weekend to the Emmy awards and now it will not see that stage because someone stole it from me.African tailoring is not cheap. If you only knew how hard I worked to get my coin together to send it back to Nigeria for this dress😭. It’s something I do several times a year and this has never ever happened to me.I am angry and distraught and disgusted that someone would violate anyone this way. I cannot stand people who steal. Yes, I filed a police report. Detectives are taking it seriously because right now “porch pirates” are running rampant in Northeast Ohio. Yes, I am checking FB Marketplace, EBay and Poshmark to see if the criminal will put it up for sale.
