"Lost in a whiteout, found in resilience. Makra Peak (3,885m) tested us with deep snow, zero visibility, and an unplanned high-altitude camp.
We started our snow trekking expedition from the Kashmir side, aiming to traverse the peak and descend into Paye Meadows, Kaghan Valley. Everything was going as planned until we reached 3,500m. Suddenly, the weather took a drastic turn-fierce winds, zero visibility, and 5-6 feet of fresh snow trapped us in the middle of nowhere. With no safe path forward or back, we had no choice but to set up camp and wait for the storm to pass. But the mountains had different plans.
The next morning, conditions remained brutal, forcing us to turn back towards Kashmir. The descent was very challenging as the deep snow covered our previous tracks, making the trail disappear. With every step sinking into the unknown, we hiked the entire day, exhausted, cold, but determined. Finally, under the cover of night, we made it back to the road--tired, but victorious.
This expedition was more than just a trek; it was a test of endurance, patience, and survival. Nature is powerful, unpredictable, and unforgiving, but that's what makes the mountains so humbling. Another chapter written in the book of adventure!
