Gone way too soon. So humble and talented. It’s hard writing this. I remember speaking with you and your mom on the phone years ago about performing spoken word poetry to help the homeless. On performance night, you walked into the room and stood next to me while I got chewed out by my kids mom. I was so embarrassed. We both laughed about it afterward for about 5 minutes. I never forgot how you gave me a chance and gave the coolest performance for me at the Beverly Hills Country Club. What stuck in my mind that evening was your love for helping people. You didn’t have to do it. But you did. You gave that stage and audience everything you had to help us feed, clothe, and give hygiene items to homeless women and children. You set the standard. Not only did you believe in me but you reminded me that none of this is about us individually and we have a responsibility to help our people. Gonna miss you man. I was looking forward to reconnecting and showing you how my kids have grown. How my daughter is publishing a book of poetry to help kids. You had so much more to give and are just gone way too soon. My love and respect goes to your family. May God give you Rest and Peace. See you on the other side. by @twicedot

Thank you to all U.S. Veterans. I especially thank Chief Warrant Officer Four (Retired) Farrell J. Chiles. Your lifetime of service to our country and local community is what legends are made of in my opinion.

I invite everyone to Google Farrell J. Chiles and read up about him. You will find everything from Blacks In Government, Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation, U. S. Army, Los Angeles County Commissioner, Author of five books about African American Warrant Officers.

Wish my grandmother and my father were both here to see my daughter @itslmio was accepted into the Ivy League’s University of Pennsylvania where she will study neuroscience. Also for them to see my daughter has one of the top 10 fastest times for high school girls running the 800 meters this year. What would they do? How would they respond?

How much joy would my grandmother have knowing her great granddaughter graduated high school as an International Baccalaureate, life member of NAACP, and proudly wore her NCNW sashes. How would my grandmother respond? What would my grandmother do for her great granddaughter?

My grandmother pledged Delta as a sorority. My daughter intends to pledge Delta. How would my father and grandmother respond if they knew my daughter cofounded a nonprofit organization @teamlmio during her senior year of high school and was helping middle school students become successful authors. Also getting shoes for student athletes through the charity she cofounded. What would my grandmother Dr Helen Curry Edwards, professor of psychology, USC and Pepperdine University alumni, and a retired psychotherapist do to help her great granddaughter continue her legacy with education? by @twicedot

Congrats to students at Lorbeer Middle School in Diamond Bar. All students in @teamlmio Team LMio Foundation’s program “Poetic Archives” wrote poems about minorities in history that inspire them. The poems are being made into a book. Students received a Team LMio Foundation t-shirt and FREE passes to Mt. SAC Relays for them and their parents to one of the greatest Track and Field competitions on earth. The students are becoming authors while in Middle School.
