The 2022 Mustang Mach 1 with a Gen 5 3.0L Whipple Stage 2 is a rated for 825 HP and 655 foot lbs of torque on 93.

We had the opportunity to tune @twicegapped’s beautiful Mach 1 via @pcmtec Multi tune and @advancedvehicleinterface. This car features a 3.0L @whipplesuperchargers setup and their 132mm throttle body on pump 93. The car responded exactly how we like to see it, responsive, full of power and a OEM level drivability on the street.

There’s a common myth in the Ford world that you have to run a Whipple operating system for these cars to work correctly. You can see it pop up in forum and social posts all the time. People being told they “need the Whipple OS” when changing throttle bodies or moving to a Whipple kit, or that they can’t go back and forth between Whipple and HP Tuners without issues.

In reality, the Whipple OS is just one of 16 ways to skin the cat. It’s convenient for manufacturers and dealers, but it’s not the only path to a properly calibrated car. A stock Ford strategy still gives you full control of torque inverse, driver demand, airflow modeling, and throttle control, which means a competent calibrator can make a Whipple car behave exactly how it should, without leaning on a canned file.
