Happy bday to the realest one I am honored to know @kenduh .

She is unflappable yet passionate, unassuming yet profound, indestructible yet lithe.

It’s a cliche to say she is like wine, getting better with age. Perhaps she is more like a mountain range, growing more complex and storied and fostering more life as time passes. Animals flit around and clamor to her like a Disney princess. Plants bloom and blossom at her touch. Her gut biome is flourishing and unimpeachable. And furthest more, she supports the entire ecosystem of our family.

What would “Mother’s Day” as we know it be without an Instagram post celebrating the undisputed greatest? Get real.

I would say our little family is lucky but that would criminally misvalue the labor, the live… the laugh… the… well, love, that @kenduh assiduously provides us.

Everyone NOT LIVING UNDER A ROCK already knows, but for those devastatingly ignorant out there… happy bday to the Greatest.

It’s been a HECK of a year and Kendra just keeps outdoing herself. I’m so honored to have seen another year of her taking on all comers, smiting each challenge as they arise. She is courageously kind, astutely canny, ever graceful, wildly capable, and startlingly funny all the while. She supports me and our family more than can ever be measured by science or expressed through words.

July 2025, a retrospect

I cannot compartmentalize the atrocities. I haven’t been able to for some time. But it’s breached any hope of containment to strain, stain, and contort my daily life.

How can I play with and raise my children while the background radiation of incomprehensible violence and cruelty continues to grow and consume me? How can I cherish moments of joy while everything is tempered by images of suffering, innocent people seared in the back of my mind? How can I muster positivity in the face of such abject doom?

We are being asked to do the impossible: to bear full knowledge of the worst deeds anyone can ever do to another, en masse and at scale, while it is made abundantly clear nothing can be done to stop it. We are being asked to go about our lives while a genocide, the crime of all crimes, is live streamed to us constantly. And worse, our own country is uniquely and especially responsible for it.

This expectation of lobotomizing compartmentalization cannot abide. This normalizing and accepting as inevitable is the death of the human spirit. This is the moment we were always told we would confront and overcome and here we are hopelessly losing. by @twigmuffin

(Written by Twigmuffin) Alifair Emerald Moon was born at home by the rising light of a full moon on 3/14/25. Labor began the previous night under the lunar eclipse and Alifair let out her first cry punctually on the very evening of her due date.

Kendra, ever indomitable, ever grounded by her innate strength of spirit, ever able to sublimate the mind into the body, integrated it all to adroitly navigate childbirth and usher in our new soul. I was again in awe of Kendra’s determination to dig deeper and deeper and deeper within to deliver our Alifair. But we would be dishonored to not credit our invaluable midwife and doula dream team of Kelly Sicoli and Sara Zia. They got the band back together and we could not be more grateful.

Veda has taken on big sisterhood greater than we could have ever foreseen. It’s astonishing how much she cherishes little Alifair already. She is so loving, kind, gentle, and frankly, obsessed. She absolutely must watch every single diaper change. Our family has not only gained a new member but another dimension of love.

While still early, Alifair has revealed herself thus far to be sweet and sensitive yet stout and discerning. Something in her eyes speaks to a powerful peace yet also a fervent wish that her enemies be few - for their own sakes. We are getting to know her more each day and are treasuring each one. by @twigmuffin
