SO MUCH PROGRESS!!!! I’ve had 2, count’em, yes 2, building projects on a slow simmer for quite a while. I’m so pleased to have them picking up the pace and really moving towards the “funnest” parts!!!! These are “ground up” projects and the land prep and foundation work can feel like it takes forever sometimes. (And in VT…the flood plain overlays, expired zoning, extra permits, and endangered bats were not for the faint of heart….but that will be another story…) Looking forward to starting to share the progression of these 2 two projects and all the fun decisions that are starting to happen!

It’s finally happening!!! The Christmas Tree Lane project hatched 2 years ago…and got mired in permitting quicksand and construction delays. Thrilled to (finally!) see it taking shape!!! It’s going to get reeeeeally fun from here…..

Does this look like a problem? Asking for a friend…..😉
Indulged some spring fever by getting garden in order yesterday. Tucked some shivering basil under a cloche to give it a little warmer microclimate. (Ok, I got excited and planted it during some freakishly warm days…) managed the distraction of my super cute Zoe. Most time-consuming was getting the supports on peonies. Mind you, I looked at them weeks ago and said to myself “ooooh, I better get the supports on so they can grow through them naturally!” And didn’t. (Which happens. Every. Single. Year. ) The challenge becomes working the leafy buds gently through the grid without breaking them. I can only accept the fact that I am the gardening version of an adrenaline addict that I do this to myself….🤷‍♀️ BUT I got it done ! And reset crooked trellis sections and garden tuteurs, trimmed away dead bits to make room for new growth, and spread new soil and compost. The foundation and the scaffolding of the garden are sound and secure. Refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready for rain, wind, sun and all that nature throws at it this season. It’s a great metaphor for life in general. Prepare the foundation. Make it strong. Watch what grows. Weed out what doesn’t belong. Remember to enjoy every stage of the evolution.

Being in beautiful places is always inspiring…perhaps you can’t have a floor fountain at home…but you can probably add a water element. Tablescapes with natural elements…simple objects make great impact in groups. The sand dollar ceiling is spectacular! It’s got me thinking about the importance of great lighting and creative fixtures….

Winterizing screen porch…✅ certain outdoor plants and accessories moved inside from the cold and glass panels installed. I am officially naming this decorating style “stuffed to the gills”…. It’s not award-winning but it IS functional and pretty cozy…especially with the late afternoon sunshine.
