So some exciting news for us today at Twin Trails. We have just found out we have won the accolade of the “Top 3 business and choice” award our B&B in Merthyr Tydfil. Undergoing a vigorous 50 point check in all areas of the business.

It’s been a hard slog, and that’s the only way I can put it really, I quit a highly paid job in industry, 6 weeks pregnant, renovating a home to then also launch a new business 🤣 We have been faced with so many challenges, were the first to step into the unknown catering to MTB only when @bikepark_wales opened, Covid, competition undercutting us etc etc so honestly I’m more than proud to say we are still here against all the odds.

Catering ONLY to MTB has had its pressures, we aren’t on the usual online booking platforms as I can’t ensure likeminded MTB enthusiasts are the only ones to stay. However, I’m still so happy to have met and provide the tailored service we do to the MTB community. I’ve made amazing friends along the way, which is an added bonus 🩵

Thanks for the support, return bookings, general sharing and follows. Means the world to me 🤘

Excited to announce @absolutemtb_ are now part of the Twin Trails family 😎 Kev is the founder of this awesome community with a strong following of over 6k on “X so check them out, a little introduction from him below too👇 Looking forward to seeing the Twin Trails jersey out on the trails🤘

“Hi, I’m Kev, founder of Absolute MTB. Cycling has always been a significant part of my life. Growing up, owning a bike wasn’t something I could take for granted, and I often relied on borrowing one from friends. That early experience shaped both my appreciation for the sport and my determination to pursue it. When I was eventually able to invest in my own bike, I discovered that mountain biking offered something truly unique—an unmatched sense of escapism. While I enjoy the adrenaline of downhill trails, it’s the experience of being immersed in the mountains that resonates most. Riding provides clarity, focus, and a powerful way to reset both mentally and physically. Through Absolute MTB, I aim to share that experience with others and bring people along on the journey. “Motion is my only sanctuary from emotion.”

Another amazing woman joins the ever growing list of awesome ambassadors here @twintrailsbnb. Rhonda has been a close friend and supporter since 2015 😎

Starting out in MTB just 18 years ago and soon qualifying with Cycling UK to become a mountain bike trail guide and getting a job at Bedgebury Forest working for Quench Cycles. No stopping there Rhonda has her own guiding business too called Rhonda’s MTB Guides specialising in confidence and beginner sessions for ladies, and a trail guide for Cuckmere Cycle Company and Marmalade MTB!

Always looking for her next adventure at her favourite Bike Park Wales visiting us least 3 times a year with a bunch of mates and having the best time.
