Our first open mic last summer at The Old Duke was something special - bringing The Twisted Bishops vibe to one of Bristol’s most iconic live‑music spots, and the whole place was on its feet.

It was one of those evenings where everything clicked: warm night, packed room, and a crowd that lifted the whole performance. We loved every second and we’re hoping to be back at The Old Duke this summer. @the_old_duke

If you want us to bring that same energy to your venue or event, The Twisted Bishops are Bristol‑based, indie‑pop covers with character, and always up for making a night unforgettable.

Our performance for The 1904 Arts Society was a completely different kind of night for us and one we absolutely loved. Sitting down to play in a concert‑style setting for one of the UK’s longest‑running amateur arts societies reminded us how much range The Twisted Bishops really have.

Instead of our usual high‑energy pub sets, we leaned into a vintage, lounge‑style feel: dreamy 60s harmonies, early rock‑and‑roll warmth, Carole King soulfulness, and a touch of Ramones sweetness. A mix of eras and moods that showed we don’t just bring the vibe, we can also create a calm, nostalgic atmosphere when the moment calls for it.

It’s the kind of set that works beautifully for concert halls, vintage events, community arts nights, and even relaxed daytime performances. We’re already thinking about how this style could be perfect for care homes, afternoon socials, or any space that wants gentle, familiar classics performed with heart.

Thank you for having us 1904!

Our nights at Broken Mic Open Mic at The Langton always feel like home. We play there a lot, and every time we walk in, we know we’re in for a fun night!

We performed “In Your Eyes” by Kylie Minogue (2002) — a track that always brings out the best in our indie‑pop twist. The whole pub became part of the performance: people walking through, dancing as they passed, singing along, stopping to join in, and we loved interacting with every single one of them. It’s the kind of room where the audience lifts the whole set.

Huge thank you to Robyn @robincorcoran1891, who is always the best host and makes Broken Mic @thelangtonbristol one of our favourite places to play in Bristol.

Our first live outing as The Twisted Bishops — George & The Dragon Open Mic Surgery. @openmicsurgerybristol
We kicked things off with “She’s Not There” (1964) by The Zombies, one of the earliest UK hits to blend jazz‑influenced chords with pop vocals. A perfect fit for our indie‑pop twist on classics.

If you’re into reimagined gems from the 50s to modern day, stick with us.
Bristol‑based and building something fun.
