Fall 2026 kicked off with a bang!

Tuscany is a wrap, and what a wonderful adventure it was! A huge thank you to our amazing guests, our talented producers, our incredible hosts, and even the weather for cooperating!

We laughed, we learned, we made new friends, and boy, did we eat well! From cooking together to witnessing the olive harvest firsthand, this one was pretty special.

Over the years, my journeys around the world have become much more than opportunities to explore food cultures. They have fundamentally changed the way I see the world, the way I feed myself and my friends, the way I interact with my community, and, perhaps most importantly, the way I understand and work with other people across many cultures.

This summer was challenging. Not only for obvious reasons but I also had a half decade of work to do on my house in only three months. I accomplished a lot but the one thing I did purely for myself was to take a class at @sambeaufordwoodworkinginst - it was such a remarkable experience, proving to myself that I haven’t lost the ability to learn something totally new. I have just “finished” my chair. Meaning it’s oiled and the final coat was just applied. The cushions have been ordered and hopefully by the time I’m home I’ll have a new addition to my living room. by @twistieb

I’m no stranger to putting together a gathering of fabulous people, but this one was for the books.
Last week we gathered some of the people who make Zingerman’s Food Tours what it is, and looking around the yard, I felt incredibly lucky.
I love my job. I love my friends. And I’m so grateful that, so often, those two worlds overlap. I get to work alongside some of the most creative, kind, curious, talented, and inspiring people I know. People who care deeply about food, where it comes from, who makes it, and the stories and traditions that surround it.
We ate. We drank. We laughed. We told stories. We celebrated the places we’ve been, the people we’ve met along the way, and this wild little thing we’ve built together.
Food Tours has never just been about taking people somewhere to eat great food. It’s about connection. It’s about sitting around a table with people you may not have known before and leaving feeling like you’ve shared something meaningful. It’s about curiosity, generosity, hospitality, and a belief that food has an incredible way of bringing us together.
Last week’s party felt like all of that in one place.
There was a lot of food, a lot of wine, a lot of laughter, and a whole lot of love. And for one evening, I got to look around and see so much of what I love about this work gathered around one table somewhere in S. E Michigan.

There’s a lot going on over here that is out of my control. I find when that happens I grasp at things I can control. I know that is not great but it’s how I deal with stuff.
In line with my unjustified confidence series, I decided to turn my hall transition into an arch. I honestly didn’t do that great of a job, drywall is hard ya’ll, but it’s totally transformed this space. Next up, painting the moldings and ceiling…. But first I am taking the night off. by @twistieb

I’ve bee pretty bad at posting this year. A lot has happened and it’s been up and down, both spiritually and physically. I traveled around the world twice though and went to Japan for the first time. That was super rad. I accidentally adopted two cats. I took a real vacation! I turned 50, I cried a little, I went to the doctors a lot and I met some new friends along the way. Spring has been a bit rocky but I’m hoping the second half of 2026 will bring some peace and clarity for what’s next. Love you all. Thanks to those of you who shared some of these moments with me. ♥️♥️ by @twistieb
