Hi, I’m @haleys.books 💕

I’m a romance and fantasy reader, podcaster, and an agented author currently getting ready to go on submission at the end of the month with my romcom The Romance Revision! The Romance Revision is my romantic comedy set in the publishing world where an editor gets roped into a book club challenge to live out a rivals to lovers trope. Which is inconvenient, considering her very real, very annoying nemesis is another editor who critiques romance novels like it’s an Olympic sport. 😤

I love all kinds of books, but romance and fantasy own my entire personality. Some of my favorites are Alchemised, Project Hail Mary, Promise Me Sunshine, Kingdom of Ash, and Yellowface. But ask me next week and I’ll probably have a new list. 🙈

On the podcast side, I’m basically the one behind the screen most of the time. I run our socials, answer messages and emails, set up author interviews, and plan all of our episodes. So if you’ve ever talked to “us” it was probably me 😂

I live in Texas with my partner, my dog, and cat, and when I’m not working or doing something podcast related, I’m probably reading, writing, or thinking about both.

I seriously love what this podcast has become, and I’m so excited to keep it going! We have so much coming soon 🥹

What’s one book you could talk about for hours without getting tired of it? 👀

Hi, I’m McCayleigh! If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I don’t do anything halfway.

I’m a fantasy and romance author with a deep love for morally gray characters, emotional slow burns, and worlds that feel just a little too real. I independently published Isle of Lies and Legends and Isle of Beasts and Shadows (The Forgotten Isle Saga), and I’m currently working on the next installments in the series… because apparently I enjoy breaking my own heart for a living. And let’s just say… I may have a few more books quietly waiting up my sleeve that I am querying. 👀

When I’m not writing, I co-host the podcast Two Chicks and a Plot Twist, where we interview bestselling authors, share bookish hot takes, and build a space for readers who feel entirely too much about fictional people (no judgment here). I’m also the tech-guru behind the scenes: editing episodes, managing the uploads, website, and making sure everything runs smoothly. If something somehow works, there’s a solid chance I’ve tinkered with it.

Outside of the book world, I juggle a few other creative ventures: social media management, small business projects, cosmetology (lash tech), and dreaming up big ideas that probably require three planners and a strong cup of coffee. I believe in building brands with heart, creating community over competition, and turning “what if?” into “why not?”

I live in Texas with my husband Cristian and our two spoiled Shih Tzus, Chewy and Leia. I also have a slight Barbie obsession. And by slight, I mean I can recite every word to Barbie Fairytopia and Barbie and the Princess and the Pauper without missing a beat. I own every Barbie movie doll. Every Barbie movie on DVD. And yes, I’ve probably seen each one at least 100 times.

If I’m not working, you’ll probably find me reading romantasy, planning my next creative project, reorganizing something that didn’t need reorganizing, or convincing myself I can absolutely add one more thing to my schedule.

If you’re here because you love books, ambition, big dreams, and a little chaos, you’re in the right place.

We had to eliminate one book quote, which one are you giving up? 👀📚

“Who did this to you?” 🥵
“That’s my wife.” 🫣
“Touch her and die.” 😛
