Is Instagram actually GOOD for watch collecting? 📱⌚️

We asked Eduardo Krajewski, founder of @watchvote, and his answer was a confident YES.

Social media has completely changed the way collectors discover watches, learn about brands, connect with one another, and ultimately decide what deserves space on the wrist.

But there’s another major piece of the puzzle: influencers.

Whether we realize it or not, the people creating content, sharing opinions, reviewing watches and telling the stories behind these brands can have a very real impact on what gets attention—and sometimes, what gets overlooked.

So the bigger question might be…

How much influence should influencers actually have on watch collecting? 👀⌚️

Sound off below. 🎙️

"THE PEOPLE BEHIND" Episode 6 - TPB 6

For those who know me, they have understood that I have a real passion for watchmaking and craftsmanship. After over 20 years working also in this domain, I have to admit that my perception and appreciation of a watch are also based on the person who made it. And I can say that I had the great pleasure meeting extraordinary people, the people behind the creation, behind the watch crafting.

For this reason, I decided to dedicate a serie of posts named "The People Behind" showing amazing watchmakers, craftsmen, artists that I had the pleasure to meet and to spend time with, personally or/and professionally.

Unfortunately, some very special people I met will not be shown in these posts because stupidly I didn't not take pictures of us together and that they are not anymore among us such as Peter Baumberger, Derek Pratt, Jean-Pierre Hagmann, Jean Cazès...😪

In this post "The People Behind Episode 6", in order of appearance:

- @philippe_dufour_officiel #philippedufour @dufour_fondation_officiel

The Godfather of traditional watchmaking, generous in his work and in life!

- @raul_pages_watches #raulpages

True perfectionist with very elegant technical and aesthetical approaches

- @gronefeld_watches #gronefeld
@bart_gronefeld @tim_gronefeld

Amazing Duo of brothers, complementary in life and at work that has put back the Kingdom of Netherlands on the watchmaking world map

For Collectors, By Collectors @watchvote.official

This week on Horology Hotline, we sat down with Eduardo Krajewski, founder of WatchVote and the collector behind @twofortime.

Eduardo’s path into horology is anything but conventional. After a career in medicine, his passion for watches evolved into a deep appreciation for independent watchmaking, craftsmanship, the people behind the pieces, and most importantly—the collectors who keep this community alive.

That passion eventually became WatchVote, a collector-driven platform built around a simple idea: every collector deserves a voice. Rather than being told what is important, desirable, or collectible, WatchVote gives enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in the conversation and let the community speak for itself.

We spoke with Eduardo about what fuels his passion for watchmaking, the importance of creating meaningful relationships with watchmakers, and why the future of this hobby shouldn’t only be shaped by brands, retailers, or media—but by the people actually wearing the watches.

Because at the end of the day, we all have opinions about watches…

WatchVote just gave those opinions a ballot. 🗳️⌚️

There’s something incredibly cool about owning a watch whose story you can’t completely uncover.

I picked up this 1950s Cuervo y Sobrinos on Chrono24 about a year ago, and I’ve loved it ever since. The design is smart, understated and very much of its time, yet somehow it still feels effortlessly cool today.

I’ve tried reaching out to Cuervo y Sobrinos a few times to learn more about this particular piece, but never managed to get any information. Perhaps the history simply disappeared along the way, or perhaps the modern company, which acquired the rights to the name, doesn’t have the records for these vintage pieces. Whatever the reason, I may never know the full story behind this watch.

And honestly, that’s part of the magic.

Vintage watch collecting is a completely different world. Sometimes you’re not buying a reference number, a movement or a market value. You’re buying a little piece of history, even when you don’t know exactly what that history is.

I’m mostly drawn to independent watchmaking, but watches like this are what make the journey so much more interesting. They remind me that collecting isn’t always about chasing the rarest or most valuable piece.

Sometimes, you just see a watch, love the way it looks, put it on your wrist, and that’s enough.

Behind every great watch is a woman who saw it first. 👀⌚

Women are the collectors with the sharpest eye, the watchmakers and designers pushing the craft forward, the boutique pros who make every visit feel like home, and the community builders who turn a hobby into a family.

This piece, a collaboration between @echoneutra and @atlantawatchsociety, is proof of what happens when great taste meets great community. 🤝

The watch world is better, warmer, and a lot more interesting with women in it. Full stop.

Tag a woman who changed the way you see watches 👇 (and yes, she’s probably already got a better collection than you 😉)

WatchVote.com: A Platform for Collectors

We talk about Watchvote.com, a new platform designed for watch collectors to voice their opinions and vote on industry topics. @watchvote.official’s founder: Eduardo, explains the registration process, which has evolved to ensure only genuine collectors participate, keeping bots and industry influence out.

The goal is to create the largest jury of collector sentiment. We also discuss Eduardo’s custom Hermes H08 watch with ‘about time’ engraving.

This wraps our 4 part interview series. Thank you to @horologyconnection for hosting the event with @lorigeofficial and for inviting us to be their guest, while allowing us the opportunity to conduct this special interview with our friend and new club member, Eduardo.

Empowering Collectors: WatchVote.com’s Mission to Curate a Unified Voice

We talk about how collectors often lack a unified voice in the watch industry, which is dominated by curated narratives. Eduardo of @watchvote.official shares his journey as a collector who retired from medicine at 49 and started WatchVote.com to give collectors a platform. We discuss the GPHG Awards as the ‘Oscars’ of watches, but he realized they’re industry-curated, so he created a weekly vote for ‘Watch of the Week’ to allow collectors to publish articles, giving them a voice in the ecosystem.
