POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🇱🇻 And that’s the final show underway. 🎭🇱🇻

A huge thank you from Paul and I to everyone who helped make 'A Play of Two Halves' happen this August.

To our wonderful cast, Ria and Jenna who threw themselves into this slightly mad idea and brought these characters to life in no time at all — thank you. ❤️

A very special thank you to Stephanie Arsoska, who has been such an important part of this from the beginning. For her support, hard work, ideas, creativity and for being there through all the madness of actually getting the thing on its feet — we couldn’t have done it without her.🫶

To Amy Allan and Louise Wyllie, for everything they did behind the scenes to bring these plays to life. 🙏

Ian Cunningham for his generous technical support. 💡🔊

The QMU students who volunteered to help with Front of House - Louise and Oli. 🙏

To Dale and Murray and all the staff at the Eighteen74 Bar for looking after us and our audiences

To Fred and Marion Jamieson for their generous support. It has meant a huge amount to us♥️.

Ann Park for all you've done over the years. 💟

Our programme sponsors - thank you for supporting us. - please consider a like or follow for their pages. Support those who are supporting independent theatre. 🙏 Pawsitive Start, & Kerr’s Removals and Storage

And, of course, to the incredible Lianne Parry and the whole team at Hearts Heritage. These shows simply don't happen without Lianne's brilliant work behind the scenes at Hearts. 🫶

Finally, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, left a programme donation, stayed for a drink, talked to us afterwards, left lovely reviews, sent us very moving messages, recommended the show to friends or came back for another night or to complete the set of all our shows. 🎟️

Thank you. Your support makes it all worthwhile. 🇱🇻🎭

“A Play of Two Halves” is expertly put together by the skilful writing team Paul Beeson and Bruce Strachan. This piece is poignant, heartbreaking and all-round beautifully crafted.' Says @steelblackout85

This is Fringe theatre. 🇱🇻🎭🇱🇻

Take a supporters’ bar inside the @heartofmidlothianfc football stadium.

Bring in lights, sound, set, props, costume, chairs and a lot of cables. 🎭💡🎬

Build a theatre.

Do the shows.

Then take most of it back down again because there’s a football match. ⚽️🇱🇻

And a couple of days later, do it all again!

That’s basically our August. 😅

For a few weeks, the 1874 Supporters Bar at Tynecastle keeps turning into one of Edinburgh’s more unusual Fringe venues — and then back into a supporters’ bar again.

The bar is open before and after the show too 🍻 so you can come in for a drink, hang about afterwards and quite possibly end up chatting to some of the cast and crew.

There are definitely easier ways to do shows…

But for a couple of hours of Hearts-related theatre at Tynecastle? Worth it. 🇱🇻❤️🇱🇻

And a huge thank you to the brilliant bar staff, who somehow manage to cope with us repeatedly taking over their space and putting it all back again. ❤️

📸 And we’re off… 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻

After all the writing, rehearsing and talking about it — A Play of Two Halves is now up and running at Tynecastle.

And we finally have some production photos to share.

The response so far has been quite incredible. Nearly 70% of the entire run is already sold, with remaining performances filling fast.

Even more importantly, we’ve already had some incredibly moving and personal messages from audience members about how the plays — and some of the tougher themes around mental health, relationships, identity and belonging — have resonated with them.

That means an enormous amount to us. ❤️

There are still chances to join us over the next couple of weeks — and this is your last chance to use the Hearts Season Ticket Holder discount.

With just three days to go, we’ve been busy rehearsing for A Play of Two Halves, and it’s starting to feel very real now!

It’s always a thrill being here at Tynecastle, and having the 1874 Supporters Bar as our venue makes this production feel extra special.

A Play of Two Halves is two connected stories from last season - two plays, one ticket - exploring hope, grief, football, friendship and everything in between. It’s funny, heartbreaking and very human. And while football is at the heart of it, it’s really about what football does to people.

Tickets are already selling fast, so if you’re coming to the Fringe, grab yours while you can. (Link in my bio)

Everyone knows how it ended. But that’s only part of the story.

This August, Two Halves Productions returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with A Play of Two Halves at Tynecastle Park.

Two new plays. One extraordinary Hearts season. One ticket.

🎭 FIRST HALF: MOVED
One supporter’s deeply personal journey through the hope, obsession and inner turmoil of a season that consumed him.

🎭 SECOND HALF: SEASON IN BLOOM
A Gorgie pub. Its staff, regulars and visitors. The hope, grief and gallows humour of an extraordinary year.

Together, the two plays explore what happens when a community stakes so much on the beautiful game.

It’s not about football. It’s about what football does to people.

Performed in the 1874 Supporters Bar at Tynecastle Park.

📅 Our planned performance window is 10–31 August, with exact dates shaped by the minor inconvenience of Hearts continuing to play football matches there too…

Dates and tickets will be announced as soon as this week’s fixture picture becomes clear.
