Our sweet baby Qi Fu,

Today marks one year since my soul dog left us. The intensity of grief is never linear, but it is a constant presence I feel it in the pit of my stomach when I pass the places where you once ran so happily. I feel it in the most mundane moments — walking through the door, lying in bed. There is never a moment when I don’t think of you and yearn for you and our time together.

When you were alive, I used to wish you could live your life as a human, just so you could finally eat all the chocolate and ice cream you were always eyeing but never got to have. I always felt so bad. Maybe I wished it into existence. Maybe that’s why you had to go too soon.

But if I could wish for anything now, it would be for more time. Because being loved by you was one of the greatest privileges of my life. You were my soul dog in every way — you existed quietly, yet you were always there whenever I needed you.

And what a life you lived. You played every day, constantly out and about. Looking back, we’d never catch you chilling at home - you had a better social life that we did. You had many, many besties - big AND small - who’d come over for playdates. You were naughty, spoiled, definitely had that only child aura. Always had to have everything your way, but you were also so loving, so understanding, and so friendly. There’s not a single person who didn’t love you.

If love could have kept you alive, you would have lived forever and ever. You were, and still are, so loved. I once read that grief feels so intense because we were lucky enough to experience a great love. Grief is the price of a great love. And so I will pay it, for the rest of my life — because you will live on forever in our memories, and in the memories of everyone who loved you (and I mean, EVERYONE)

The world kept going, but mine stopped with you.

I hope we meet again in every lifetime, and in every lifetime you’re our family.

They might slow you down, you might not be able to complete the route, you’d have to carry a little extra water, a few snacks but, including them is so worth the extra bit of detail 💕

Tiny Tzu’s first time at a self service wash!

We’d be noticing lately that Qi Xi wasn’t feeling very good every time we took him out to the groomer’s.
So we decided to put his safety first and just wash him ourselves at home. Except… he loves to splash around making clean up a little taxing 🤦🏻‍♀️

So we decided to try out the new self service spot nearby! What an experience ☺️
They have everything from heated water, to foam machines, massage equipment, dryers, treats and etc on hand.
And it only cost us 40 rmb for 1.5 hours of washing, drying and brushing!

How convenient is that 🤩
