over the past few months, i’ve become a little obsessed with the dolce & gabbana fw06 collection. after finally managing to get this coat, i took a runway photo and turned it into an experiment: a reinterpretation through a depth map inspired by lidar scans ⚓️

She’s Giulia Olivetti, a fictional name built as the first narrative element: “Giulia” contains “uli,” referencing olive trees (ulivi), while “Olivetti” directly evokes olives and the apulian landscape.

The character comes from merging two images: a look from Miu Miu SS 2026 ready-to-wear collection, a contemporary reinterpretation of feminine domestic aesthetics, and a previous image i created that depicting a dark apulian priestess. the goal was to reinterpret the traditional figure of the elderly woman associated with the zoca, transforming her into a more contemporary, time-suspended presence

This editorial stages Zoca-Tex, a gorpcore reinterpretation of a popular object from Southern Italy. The zoca is the traditional balcony rope used to lower objects and bags; here it is transformed into a technical device: climbing rope, carabiner, harness. Materials designed for the mountains are applied to a domestic, banal gesture like taking out the trash.
The bag becomes equipment. The performance is not heroic, it is everyday.
Beside the object, a young woman wears a dress that recalls the ladies of Puglia’s historic centers. A body rooted in tradition handling a hyper-technical, urban, contemporary aesthetic. The contrast is intentional, almost ironic.

XYLEMMA is a short visual narrative set in a suspended, disturbed apulian imaginary.
It follows Abajur, a silent monstrous creature, as it comes into contact with a diseased olive tree. It doesn’t try to save it, but to listen to it.

The story unfolds in four chapters: Oliva, Ascolto, Disegno, Rito. Every gesture Abajur makes is an attempt to understand, not to redeem. The reference to Xylella is there, but never explicit: the disease becomes an omen, a vision, a memory of the future.

XYLEMMA isn’t about solutions, but about reaction. About what’s left to do when the disaster has already begun.

Questa opera nasce 2 anni fa da un pensiero ossessivo: per creare un mostro, basta crederci. Lo stesso vale per una figura religiosa.
Credere è l’atto creativo più puro e più pericoloso che abbiamo.
Quando temiamo un mostro nell’ombra, lo rendiamo reale attraverso la nostra paura. Quando invochiamo una divinità per trovare conforto, stiamo facendo lo stesso gesto — ma chiamandolo fede.
Questa immagine è un’icona distorta e lucida, dove il divino e il mostruoso si confondono, perché forse sono la stessa cosa.
