Coiked a few good ones this evening.

After trying darn near every rigging technique out there, I’ve settled on one: keep it simple.

• 3/32–7/64 oz BKK Permalock nail sinker jammed into the cavity
• 1/0 treble or quad hook run through the bait and the eye of the sinker
• Bend the hook point back slightly to keep the bait from sliding off

If you’re not throwing a Hideup Coike Full Cast, the same weight still works, but I’d downsize the hook. Most of the knockoffs seem to be more buoyant despite being smaller.

17-20lb Fluoro
@fish_shimano_north_america Poison Adrena 73MH or 72H with a Curado 150XGM

These setups launch the bait and allow you to snap it perfectly by @tworley06

I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with Luke Wenger a couple times over the last few weeks and he’s an absolute 🔨. He’s not only an incredibly knowledgeable fishermen for his age but just a rock solid dude with a great personality. If you want to sharpen your FFS game and have an opportunity at some big ones here in DFW he’s THE GUY. We had just shy of 40lbs on our last trip and he’s been catching big bags almost everyday it seems.

P.S. I had quite a few people ask me where we caught them and I’m not going to take away from all the hard work Luke has put in finding these fish. If you want to know, message him. by @tworley06

Chasing prespawners is one of my favorite ways to fish. I firmly believe some of the biggest fish in the lake spawn on the dam #fishshimano #funnsunboatsandtackle #skeeterboats #dfwfishing by @tworley06
