Sorry but I thought I knew everything about this breed then low and behold there’s such a thing as reverse mask German Shepherds, or the wolf stripe as some countries refer to it. Doesn’t make our special babies any less GSD than the solid colored ones😤🫶🏼

so yesterday I took out the slip leash to have some fun with skye

She went feral when she saw it, the excitement and eagerness to please is on full display in this reel- and it makes me so happy

March 24th, 2020. It’s barely 3:30am when I get a text. Bane and Jersey had their puppies. (Slide to the very end to see skye at 2 days old) I remember rolling over and shaking Josh awake. Telling and begging him. My dream dog breed was just born, and his friend told us we could get first pick, no charge. Josh told me NO.

I cried. And begged. Pleaded. Then his friend came over and asked us (Josh) to just come see them. Skye was laying in a box with her siblings, tongue hanging out and at first glance you’d think she was dead. She was not (clearly) Josh picked her out. I picked out her brother.

5 weeks later I get a text to come get you from the parking lot. I didn’t hesitate to run outside and grab her. For the first three hours she was nameless, we had no clue. We almost called her Bee, then Star. Then finally we chose Skye

The puppy days flew by, between both Josh and I we never had a dog so smart so young. Fully pad trained before 8w. She knew sit, down, shake, speak within a month.

She wasn’t the dog I picked out, she was better, IS better! Than I could ever have imagined. She is my best friend, I cannot imagine life without this dog, I just cannot.

My son was three when she home. They truly grew up together. He adores skye so much, his German shepherd stuffed animal collection is equally as large as his Siberian Husky collection.

Skye, I love you so much. Happiest of birthdays to the best dog this family could have ever asked for. You are so so so so so loved 💕

now it’s back to cold weather, my SIL wants a beach day but I don’t think she understands that 60’s and winds is not bikini tanning weather it’s walk your dog on the beach weather 😅

I finally got it on videoooo 😍

For reference to those who don’t know, I am 5’9
This is a great example of how large Nex actually is

He loves to be carried, unlike skye who goes complete bonkers when I attempt to just hold her

He goes limp in my arms and trusts me entirely. That is the purest form of love in my eyes

I adore this boy so much, he completes life for me 🥹
